"Outside Looking In" as written by Jordan Pruitt, Keith Thomas and Robin Scoffield....
You don't know my name
You don't know anything about me
I try to play nice
I want to be in your game
The things that you say
You may think I never hear about them
But word travels fast
I'm telling you to your face
I'm standing here behind your back

You don't know how it feels
To be outside the crowd
You don't know what it's like
To be left out
And you don't know how it feels
To be your own best friend on the outside looking in

If you could read my mind
You might see more of me than meets the eye
And you've been all wrong
Not who you think I am
You've never given me a chance

Well, I'm tired of staying at home
I'm bored and alone
I'm sick of wasting all my time

[Chorus: x2]

General Commentthis song to me, means that shes sick of people talking behind her bak about her, and how she has no friends.and how she wants to have fun instead of being home on the weekend nights when everyone else has dates or parties to go to..i can relate.

    General CommentWow no comments?
    Oh well guess I'm first.
    Its an obvius song.
It means watching people and the world move around you while you have nothing to do.Or not blending in. Either its in school\work\around others.
Just about being your own best friend (lol ..better then having fake friends i think but the songs isnt about that =D ) And thats all i think =]

General CommentJordan Pruitt has such an amazing voice. The song is about being invisible, not having friends, feeling unimportant. I think everyone can relate to this song once in a while.

General CommentThe reason I think this may be because I discovered this song while I was going through an extremly rough time at school with friends, but I believe the song goes along the lines of this.

People have been talking behind her back. And, she hasn't done anything. She just wants to be friends with people, get along and fit in. And people think that whatever they say she won't hear about, but she does - word travels fast. These people don't know how it feels - they're too perfect, right? - and she feels like she has no friends except herself. If those people could read her mind they might realize she has a heart of gold, and that she really just wants to get along. But they won't give her a chance. She's not going out - how can she? People who don't like her are out. She gets bored and feels lonely, she's just waisting time. But nobody understands and she just wants it to be easier.

General Commenti think this song is about a girl who never really fit in..so pretty much a misfit...to me the meaning of "Outside Looking In" means she's on the outside looking at everyone who fits in while she see's a place where she'd love to be...and ppl just asume things about her...even thougth she may not really show it..it hurts her inside..and she doesnt want to change for ppl just so she can fit in..ppl are to quick to judge..ppl are fragile whiether they show it or not ppl brake..some are just better at hiding it...

General CommentI'm not really a fan of pop music...but, I do love this song and I do love her voice. It's really sweet.
Anyway, I agree with longxlostxlove, basically. But, I think that, towards the end of the song, she just doesn't care anymore. Not that she's fine with it, she's just used to it.
I can relate to this as well.

General CommentI know about this song.....I was once treated the same way...for 5 years. This song is saying that she wants to be accepted for who she is and she wants all the lies and rumors to stop about her because they arent true. She's trying to be nice to them shes trying to fit in with everyone else and have fun but she can't becuase no one will accept her for the way she is.
