I remember the times we spent together
On those drives
We had a million questions
All about our lives
And when we got to New York
Everything felt right
I wish you were here with me
Tonight

I remember the days we spent together
Were not enough
And it used to feel like dreamin'
Except we always woke up
Never thought not having you
Here now would hurt so much

Tonight I've fallen and I can't get up
I need your loving hands to come and pick me up
And every night I miss you
I can just look up
And know the stars are
Holdin' you, holdin' you, holdin' you tonight

I remember the time you told me about when you were eight
And all those things you said that night that just couldn't wait
I remember the car you were last seen in
And the games we would play
All the times we spilled our coffees
And stayed out way too late
I remember when you said and told me about your Jesus
And how not to look back even if no one believes us
When it hurt so bad sometimes
Not having you here

I sing
"Tonight I've fallen and I can't get up
I need your loving hands to come and pick me up
And every night I miss you
I can just look up
And know the stars are
Holdin' you, holdin' you, holdin' you tonight"

I sing
"Tonight I've fallen and I can't get up
I need your loving hands to come and pick me up
And every night I miss you
I can just look up
And know the stars are
Holdin' you, holdin' you, holdin' you tonight"

The song is about his brother. He wrote it thinking about what it would be like if he was still alive. It also about calling out to God for closure when someone dies, and part of it was inspired by the person that first shared their faith with Trevor.

He did an interview and explained the meaning of this song.

I think anyone who has lost someone can relate though =)

if you think this songs about a break up.. when you break up it doesnt make sense if you said "the stars are holding you up" he's talking about heaven and his brother dying.. so its not about a break up.. its about missing someone whos gone from this world..

I heard this song from my sister and right away I thought it was a beautiful song but really didn't have any way to relate it to my life at the time, but now I do. My dear friend, whom has technically been adopted as my brother, recently deployed. We used to spend pretty much every second together, he is 3 years younger than me, but he will always be my hero, and my son's role model. Since my sons dad walked out a couple weeks after he was born, my 'brother' stepped in as his Uncle and has helped me with everything, from doctors appointments to haircuts. He was even there when I found out I had cancer and needed surgery. He's a volunteer firefighter and a licensed EMT plus he is serving in the Alabama National Guard MP Company. He will be gone for a while to one of the "hottest" spots overseas, and of course I pray everyday that we will see him again one day. This song just reminds me of the last time I saw him, I swear it played out like that.. Remembering all the times we used to just drive the back roads for no reason, always had fun no matter what we were doing, and he even got my son and I back in Church.. I watched him drive away in his Xterra that day for his base for deployment.. God I miss him. So I pray everyday hoping that I will get to see him alive again, if not, then I will look up and know the stars are holding him until I get there too :)

I read somewhere that this song was written about Trevor McNevan’s brother who passed away when they were children.

Awesome song though that can be open for many other interpretations. :]

This song is defiantly about someone who is dead, and the person who lost them is remembering the good times, and obviously missing them.

Basically anyone and everyone can relate to this song. It's definatly my number one at the moment.

most ppl think of death when they hear this song but i think it can be taken in another way. when i hear it i think that it is about a guy and a girl who are in a relationship and are just apart from each other for whatever reason and the guy starts to think about things like how they met and some of the good times they had and starts to miss the girl. when he does this tho he becomes sad and realizes he needs her more than anythin and since they cant be together he just looks up at the stary night sky and thinks that god or the angels up there are watching over her and that nothing bad could happen

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/
