I can't show pain
Long for days
When I am free to feel

Don't want to lose everything
Just want to feel again
My heart would burst for you
If that would make things right

I don't feel anything
Outside the pain you bring
Starting over doesn't look so bad this time

I am not empty inside
Though I long, to make this right

Emotions still touch me
Still I can't feel a thing
Like ghosts they melt into the fog
and leave me cold

Only shadows and impressions
are left for me to hold
My heart would burst for you if that would make you whole

I am not empty inside
Still I long, to make this right
I am not empty inside
Though I long, to make this right

I am not empty inside
Still I long, to make this right
I am not empty inside
(empty inside)
Though I long, to make this right
(make this right)

Don't want to lose everything
Just want to feel again
My heart would burst for you
If that would make things right

I don't feel anything
Outside the pain you bring
Starting over doesn't look so bad this time

I am not empty
I am not empty
I am not empty
I am not empty

i disagree, deatcloud. i think it's about a relationship that has been long over, but he wants it to start again. she broke up with him because she thought he was cold and emotionless. he's trying to tell her that he's not hollow, he just doesn't show his emotion.

yeah I think this is about a relationship that's over because the girl thought he was emotionless, but he's telling her he's not anymore, becuase of what he felt when she left him.

This song is about is about the end of a relationship or maybe just one that is collapsing. he is saying that because of the pain in the relationship he has become numb and untouchable but he still has enough heart left in him to make it work with his lover - "My heart would burst for you, If that would make things right"

god what an awesome song, i really relate to the phills emotions.

it is about trying to convince someone you love (who is leaving) that you CAN feel, although you may not wear your emotions on your sleeve - and the pain that this struggle brings.

    my impression.

raw rock kills! ean,// gore. inferno.

this song gives me chills i think its about a guy in a relationship, thats like falling apart. at one point in his life he decided not to show emotion any more, but that doesnt mean he cant feel love, or pain

awesome song...its about a relationship that has ended

I can't show pain----he cannot give the girl the satisfaction of knowing she has hurt him badly Long for days When I am free to feel---he cannot wait to feel something other that the pain she caused

Don't want to lose everything Just want to feel again--he doesnt want to lose it all but feel happiness again My heart would burst for you If that would make things right---he tried pouring out his heart to her, but she just shut him down

I don't feel anything Outside the pain you bring--explanatory Starting over doesn't look so bad this time---he may need to run away from this and start anew

I am not empty inside Though I long, to make this right--he has so much to give, and wants another chance

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
