A un passo da Gerusalemme
E a solo un miglio dalla luna
Sotto un cielo di milioni di stelle
Ho il cuore perso in un pianeta lontano
Che gira intorno e cade giù
Con archi di tristezza

Io muoio per te
Muoio per te

E se il mio regno diventa sabbia
E cade in fondo al mare
Io muoio per te
Muoio per te

From the dark secluded valleys
I heard the ancient songs of sadness
But every step I thought of you
Every footstep only you

Every star a grain of sand
The leavings of a dried up ocean
Tell me, how much longer?
How much longer?

Dove il vento urla all'avvoltoio

These are the works of man
This is the sum of our ambition
It would make a prison of my life
If you became another's wife
Che i miei nemici siano liberi
Io cado e sono qui
Che muoio per te
Muoio per te

And I have never in my life
Felt more alone than I do now
Although I claim dominions
Cosa sono qui?
Sono niente così
Non ci sono vittorie
Nelle nostre storie
Senza amor

A stone's throw from Jerusalem
I walked a lonely mile in the moonlight
And though a million stars were shining
My heart was lost on a distant planet
Che gira intorno e cade giù
Con archi di tristezza

Io muoio per te
I'm lost without you, I'm lost without you

And though you hold the keys to ruin
Of everything I see
With every prison blown to dust
My enemies walk free
I regni miei di sabbia che
Che vanno in fondo al mare
I'm about you
Muoio per te

This song was done as a duet with Zucchero—great cd—and this translation is by Zucchero Fornaciari. Interestingly “I’m mad about you” becomes “I die for you” in true passionate Italian style.

Ho il cuore perso in un pianeta lontano My heart was lost on a distant planet

Che gira intorno e cade gui' That spins around the April Moon

Con archi di tristezza, Whirling in an arc of sadness

Io muoio per te, muoio per te! I die for you, I die for you

E se il mio regno diventa sabbia And if my kingdoms become sand

E cade in fondo al mare: and fall bottom to the sea

Io muoio per te, (io) muoio per te! I die for you, I die for you

E dalla fonde oscure valli And from the dark, secluded valleys

Canzoni antiche di tristezza I heard the ancient songs of sadness,

Mo ogni passo io pensavo a te But every step I thought you

Ogni passo solo te every step only you

Gli avanzi di un asciutto mare The leavings of a dried up ocean

Dimmi, quanto tempo, quanto ancora! Tell me how much longer, how much longer!

The say a City in the desert lies,

La vanita di un antico re The vanity of an ancient king

Ma la citta riposa in pezzi, But the city lies in broken pieces.

Dove il vento urla all'avvoltoio Where the wind howls and the vulture sings,

Quello che ha fatto l'uomo These are the works of man

Con l'ambizione, e tutto questo This is the sum of our ambition

Faro prigione la mia vita It would make a prison of my life

Se sei la sposa per un altro If you to became another's wife

Ogni prigione in polvere with every prison blown to dust,

Che i miei nemici siano liberi, My enemies walk free

Io cado e sono qui, I am fallen

Che muoio per te, muoio per te! So that I die for you, I die for you !

E solo come mai, Cosi solo come ora mai! I've never felt more alone in my life

Con tutti i miei domini Although I claim dominion over all I see

Cosa sono qui It means nothing to me

Sono niente cosi There is nothing,

Non ci son vittorie Ther are no victories, in

Nelle nostre storie, senza amor! All our histories, without Love!

A un passo da Gerusalemme I passed through from Jerusalem

Ho il cuore perso in un pianeta lontano My heart was lost on a distant planet

Che gira intorno e cade gui' That spins around the April Moon

Con archi di tristezza, Whirling in an arc of sadness

Io muoio per te, muoio per te! I die for you, I die for you !

E anche se hai le chiavi And though you hold the keys

E distruggi quel che ho To ruin of everything I see,

Ogni prigione in polvere every prison into dust,

Nemici piu non ho My enemies go free

i regni miei di sabbia mare, though all my kingdoms turn to sand and fall into the sea,

Io muoio per te, muoio per te! I die for you, I die for you!

Quale materia le piace di meno? Sono bravo in Prendersi Cura Creatura Magico. Sono molto scarso in Incantesimo. Tanti auguri?

Andare in pace? Vivere in pace? Fare la pace? Pace e tranquillità? Conferenza sulla pace? Semplicemente pace? Precisamente peace?

Al can't be too much of a beast. After all, he helped me with the Italian and the French.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
