Kiss me again, re-kiss me and kiss me
Slip your frigid hands beneath my shirt
This useless old fucker with his twinkling cunt
Doesn't care if he gets hurt

Green eyes, oh green eyes
Green eyes, green eyes

If it were but a matter of faith
If it were measured in petitions and prayer
She would materialize, all fleshed out
But it is not, nor do I care

Green eyes, oh green eyes
Green eyes, green eyes

So hold me, and hold me, don't tell me your name
This morning will be wiser than this evening is
Then leave me to my enemy'd dreams
And be quiet as you are leaving, Miss

Green eyes
Green eyes, green eyes
Green eyes, oh green eyes

About Tori Amos. Supposedly she rubs sparkles and glitter into her pubic hair.

    not about tori amos.

from q magazine, march 2005: "Interviewer: 'What about Tori Amos. You said the "twinkling cunt" line in Green Eyes [also on The Boatman's Call] was about her sewing sequins into her pubic hair. I bet she wasn't flattered by that.'

Nick: 'That's simply not true. It keeps getting repeated in the press, but it's not true.'

Interviewer: 'It's here in this music magazine from 1997. The journalist asks, "You have first-hand experience of this?' and you say, "Yes."'

Nick: 'I lied. I start to lie when things get really tedious. Anyway, I met Tori in the lobby of a hotel once afterwards. She seemed a lovely girl. She didn't send any letters of complaint. I think even if it were true it's kind of flattering. I mean, how sweet. What a sweet thing to do...to sit there and sew sequins into your pubic hair.'"

This is another song about the West Country Girl (most of TBC is about Polly, the songs that are not about her are about Viv).

"A West country girl with a big fat cat That looks into her eyes of green And meows, "He loves you", then meows again"

Plus, doesn't Tori have bright blue eyes as opposed to green? I know it's a trivial detail, but nonetheless significant. This album has PJ Harvey stamped all over it.

There's definitely something drunken about this song. Maybe it's just in the way he sings it.

It is haunting how he takes the role of an older gay man enjoying the touch of a younger one, and well aware of love's cost.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
