for you

take three years take these
tears blow it out of proportion
like you never (lived a single day without regret) like you never (lived without my voices in your head)
three states and eighty shows later its over

but its ok cuz right here is where i
belong true friends stab in the front
what said is said whats done is done
your eyes (crush in)
my finger (is) the only way you see

you taught me nothing i didn't already know was it fun rideing on my shoulders now you kill now you sin to rip open my skin and live a day in my shoes cuz you got nothing left to lose

you fool me once shame on you
you fool me twice shame on me
you fool me three times and death will come broken wings

right here is where i belong you taught me nothing i didn't already know was it fun rideing on my shoulders now you kill now you sin to rip open my skin and live a day in my shoes cuz you got nothing left to lose

General CommentOk, well first off, I think he might be saying "fuck you!" at the beginning, not "for you!" llisten to it with enhanced voice and you will realize this. But this song may also have a meaning past what the eye sees. I think it might be about the band's break up. Here are some clues.
    "take three years take these
tears blow it out of proportion"
    the band existed 2003-2006.
i think that maybe someone did betray him, but that betrayal maybe led to the band's break up.

    General CommentHmm..well first off
Theres two version of this song
the original was called Gavin Aint Dancin, and yes it said fuck you not for you
the second version said for you, and to me sounded worse.

As for the band breaking up thing, yes that could be correct but it wouldnt be about them, it would be about Farewell Unknown.

Farewell Unknown is Joels original band that was around for 3 years i think, joel left and the rest of the band created Dance Gavin Dance, which probably means Joel left on a bad note

just a little history on this band lol

General CommentMy brother, Alvaro was the guitarist for Farewell Unknown. Joel was kicked out of the band. So I'm this is a hate song towards them. Now-days, Joel is cool with them, he has no hate against them what so ever. this song isn't about sex.

General Commentnot necessarily a girlfriend, maybe a friend. they hurt him and now he is telling them fuck you. you have no idea what they did to him and they never will. and they dont want to see them again.
