Well, you send my life a whirling
Darling, when you're twirling
On the floor
And who cares about tomorrow?
What more is tomorrow
Than another day?

When you swept me away
Yeah, you swept me away
La la la la
La la la la

Well, I see the end of the rainbow
But what more is a rainbow
Than colors out of reach?
If you come down to my window
And I climb out my window
Then we'll get out of reach

Then you swept me away
Yeah, you swept me away

You said with such honest feeling
But what'd you really mean
When you said that I'm your man
Well, how my darling can it be
When you have never seen me
And you never will again?

That you swept me away
Yeah, you swept me away

Well, life is ever changing but I
Can always find a constant and comfort in your love
With your heart my soul is bound
And as we dance I surely know that
Some kinda of heaven will be found

And you send my life a whirling
Darling, when you're twirling on the floor
And who cares about tomorrow?
Girl, what more is tomorrow
Than another day?

When you swept me away
Yeah, you swept me away
Yeah, you swept me away

    My Interpretation

I understood it as them singing about a short romance, like a summer love or something similar to that.

He's been 'swept away' by this girl who he's just met and even though he may never see her again he wants to enjoy the love they've found with whatever time they've got left together..so he's saying who cares about what will happen tomorrow or what lies ahead for them.. even though they may not be together forever they should still be together now.

"Life is ever changing but I will always find a constant and comfort in your love"

But whatever the meaning, this song is so beautiful.. and I can't stop listening to it either <3

I agree, completely. All of the Avetts songs are incredible. The best thing about these is that while the music alone is beautiful and the lyrics along are meaningful....combined they are incredibly moving.

especially beautiful and pertinent to me at the moment:

"You said with such honest feeling But what'd you really mean When you said that I'm your man Well how my darling can it be When you have never seen me And you never will again"

here's to hoping that i'm wrong.

my impression is it's this man and woman meeting and dancing one night. They believe, in that night, that they may never see one another again but they believe they have the potential to fall in love with one another.

"as we dance I know that heaven can be found"

This is the first time she realized she could truly love and be loved.

But do they make it or not? Do they see one another again after this night, or is it a powerful one-night connection? I don't know.

This song means a lot to me, more than I ever thought a song would ever mean to me. Please, try and listen to it and not sing along. Please, tell me this is bad without telling a blatant lie. Please, show me a song that showcases more breath-taking lyrics and brilliantly written music. In-fact, I'm sorry everyone on here hasn't commented this and shared their opinion on this wonderful piece of art. But I can see why they haven't because to my dismay, this song cannot be explained with words.

Currently, if you want me to tell the truth, I could care less about interpreting these lyrics. Every word relates to my prior relationship. Every word, plain and simple. I may sound like an idiot, oh well.

    "Yeah, you swept me away."

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
