Meaning, she did it to get attention. The meaning of the entire bottom half of the lyrics is obvious. He misses her terribly.

I pretty much am sure that these lines mean he saw what has his gilrfriend done .. cutting and bleeding on the carpet. There is nothing outlined in white, because there is no corpse. It's not a real suicide.

I don't believe that the girl died I think its the actions she did "cutting herslf" that made her dead to him. "been gone so long... I've lost my faith meaining that even though she's physically still there emotionally she's gone. And he lost his faith or gave up on hope that she will ever return to her natural normalself. She might have not even physically hurt herself at all mabey the blood symbolizing hurt and the carpet being his heart "the devil made you do it " could mean he doesn't believe she would willing do these things to hurt him
