Say a prayer, say your last goodbyes.
Leave me here, leave it all behind.
Bury this, walk away, let it die.

For a day, for a stitch in time.
This was good, this was all worth while.
But I'm a fool, it's not you, and I can't lie.

You shouldn't hang on, it's already gone.
Don't wait by the phone, I'm not coming home.
You shouldn't hang on, it's already gone away.

Take a breath, take a last good look.
Give it back, give back all you took.
You can see, it's not me, like you should.

You shouldn't hang on, it's already gone.
Don't wait by the phone, I'm not coming home.
You shouldn't hang on, it's already gone away.

So say goodbye for the last time, just like the last time we did.
Die for the last time, I'll give it up, going on, on.

Say a prayer, say your last goodbye.
Leave me here, leave it all behind.
Everyone that you know let you down.

You shouldn't hang on, it's already gone.
Don't wait by the phone, i'm not coming home.
You shouldn't hang on, it's already gone away.

Say goodbye for the last time, just like the last time.
Say goodbye for the last time, just like the last time.
Say goodbye for the last time.

i think, this songs is refering to a couple.. she's still in love with him, while he is ready to leave. he's telling her to move on and not dwel on what just happened. to just leave him in her past. she still wants him in her life and she probably feels as if she can't live, or go on without him there. "You shouldn't hang on. It's already gone." she wants something that doesn't exsist anymore....

    at least that's my view..

Good video and great song. It's almost self explanatory I think. I like their style of music. I'm looking forward to more of their music.

I agree, this song kind of explains itself from from what i got is..the couple keeps breaking up because he said at the end say goodbye for the last time just like the last time..and if you see the music video it looks like she is ready to say goodbye for the last time by jumping into the pool and killing herself but instead her pool of tears stops her from dying. i think the song is about trying to let go..but she cant.

i think its pretty self explanitory. but, for those of you who even care about what i have to say, heres what i think : say your last goodbye. cause' this guy is leaving. and this girl doesnt want him to leave. doesnt want him to go. wants to stay together. but hes saying "dont wait by the phone,im nto coming home" as in, im literally not coming home. dont wait up for me. we're through. telling her to let go basically, cause he doesnt want to be in the relationship anymore. good song.

the music video is so sad. i think. does the girl kill herself in the end, even though she falls into all her tears and drown? if you know, please let me know, because i dont and it confuses me.

Actually i always thought of it as him commiting suicide, not leaving a girl. He is leaving and saying "goodbye"

and the music video makes that pretty clear....LOL

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
