Lean On Sheena Lyrics
Her mother says you wouldn't let her use the phone
Or were you intoxicated?
Past the point of knowing what was going on
Leave the keys on the TV set
Hoping your gone for the corner bar
Here we are after dark
Knocking back the makers mark
Scrounging up the dollars from my buddys car
She leans on me a lot
Hold on, hold on
Hold on to what you've got
How'd you make her feel
Worse than she did before
And I heard you came back later
Had the upstairs neighbors banging on the floor
Leave the keys on the TV set
Hoping your gone from the corner bar
Here we are after dark
Knocking back the makers mark
Scrounging up the dollars from my buddys car
She leans on me a lot
Hold on, hold on
Hold on to what you've got
Her mother said you wouldn't let her use the phone
Were you intoxicated
Past the point of knowing what was going on
Leave the keys on the TV set
Hoping your gone from the corner bar
Here we are after dark
Knocking back the makers mark
Scrounging up the dollars from my buddys car
She leans on me a lot
Hold on, hold on
Hold on to what you've got
Grab your keys off the TV set
Saying goodbye to the corner bar
Not a friend til the end
No, she's never coming back again
Know what's on my mind and in my heart
She leans on me a lot
Hold on, hold on
Hold on to what you've got

I think it's about domestic violence, and being that friend that is there for someone who is in an abusive relationship and convincing them to get out of it.

I recently had to move across country and had to leave a really close friend. For some reason this song really hit home with me.

This is my favorite song on the new Bouncing Souls CD! I don't know why, it just flows well lyrically and melody wise. It amused me when I saw they named a black widow spider that was staying in the bathroom of their studio "Sheena" as well. They must like that name. Any way check out their whole CD "The Gold Record"

Sounds like an alcoholic father being abusive of his daughter.
