    My Interpretation

    Sounds like he's in a relationship with a girl he likes. He's happy, but since he knows nothing can last forever ("the world keeps moving") he can only enjoy her company today and make the most of it ("hold on tight, and let it slip away.")

For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate.
