I'll take with me every single luxury when I leave you
Count on me for that and nothing more
- Count on me for that and nothing more
The view from this side's not what
The view from this side's not what
I thought it'd be, promise something differently
Close our eyes and let go of the wheel

It's not the quanity that bothers me
No it's not the quanity that bothers me
No it's not the quality that bothers me

It's the means, twenty-twenty surgery
Well, twenty-twenty surgery
For cheap dollar signs are a, for picture perfect point of view
Twenty-twenty surgery
Well, twenty-twenty surgery
For cheap, dollar signs are a, for picture perfect point of view

Well all young children listen, 'cause they got so much to learn
- Turn it in, turn it in
We'll get you home in time, to make them wretched be for free for being me

It's not the quanity that bothers me
- No it's not the quanity that bothers me
No it's not the quality that bothers me..

It's the means, twenty-twenty surgery
Well, twenty-twenty surgery
For cheap dollar signs are a, for picture perfect point of view
Twenty-twenty surgery
Well, twenty-twenty surgery
For cheap, dollar signs are a, for picture perfect point of view

- You do, you don't, you do, you don't
Would you like to think that?
You do, you don't, you do, you don't
Would you like to think that?
You do, you don't, you do, you don't
Would you like to think that?

It's the means, twenty-twenty surgery
Well, twenty-twenty surgery
For cheap dollar signs are a, for picture perfect point of view
Twenty-twenty surgery
Well, twenty-twenty surgery
For cheap, dollar signs are a, for picture perfect point of view

You're so sensitive
I am, I am a machine.
You're so sensitive
I am, I am a machine.
You're so sensitive
I am, I am a machine.
You're so sensitive
I am, I am a machine.

I'm pretty sure TBS could care less about cosmetics, or surgeries, or hollywood drama... this is about a relationship/girl turning out to be something/someone totally different than what was thought, and now the person is "opening his eyes for the first time" so to speak.

Lines in the first verse are "The view from this sides not what, the view from this sides not what" instead of ... "If you come this side, it's not what If you come this side, it's not what"

Also before the chorus, instead of saying "Its in me" he says "Its the means"

wow solid snake just because you're illiterate doesnt mean this song doesnt mean anything. But anyway personally im still trying to figure this one out. But after a few listens it's one of my favourite songs, the chorus is like beach boys playing punk rock. gotta love it

Using money to make up for the flaws inherent in all of us. In this case, the metaphor is eye surgery to regain perfect vision. Perhaps? That's my take. Giving Adam Lazarra the benefit of the doubt, maybe his lyrics suck, but I saw that metaphor.

awesome song. i think it goes deeper than just eye surgery. i believe it's talking about cosmetic surgery as a whole to make a person look better. "cheap dollar signs doll up a picture perfect point of view". making the person perfect in the eyes of everyone else. in other words, beautiful and what everyone wants to be. and now anyone can get this cause there are cosmetic surgeons everywhere.

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
