when the cold days
stretch forever on
excuses grow old
the snow provides us with prescious little time
(barely enough to breathe)
in the hardwood room the sanctuary's gone
but the room has never changed
then you hear you cry out
you'd be better off alone
in the harshest way...
if giving in is second nature
being alive is in vain
if keeping you at bay is the way i've wandered
i've lost again
then i wonder what it takes to get me home
nothing concrete
nothing like you
and one discrete ado does not an answer make
i'm safe i'm grounded i'm knee deep in this mud
(and i've grown to like the feel)
surrounded by tall tales
and the thickest cold skin walls...
...it's all laughable

oh, it's been a banner year

i want to see with your faithful eyes everything
and keeping you at bay is so much overrated
