New Song (Untitled) Lyrics

There is no good, no how
No good reason, no easy way to say goodbye
Bye bye, bye bye, bye bye, bye bye
No matter how many times we try

Cry as we might
There is no better time than tonight

We have no friends, and no fear
And no reasonable reason
No bad feelings of pleasing you or changing
I’m changing, forgetting you
I've forgotten to
I do not want to

Try as we might
There’ll be no sleeping tonight

There are no big deals, and no deal-breakers
No hand-shakers, no pure-bred papers
And no blame, no guilt, no powers that be
Baby, there’s just no being me
Forgetting you, I forgot him, too

Try as we might
There’ll be no leaving tonight

Try as we might, there’ll be no leaving tonight

I tried. There were a couple of parts that could very well need correction. "there's just Opie and me", and when it says "I forgotten, too" were two problem areas. This song is unreleased, but I heard it done when she played Morning Becomes Eclectic on KCRW. If anyone knows a title, too, just speal up. Cool.

well the one that i notice immediately is "baby there's just no being me" vs "opie and me".

the third verse doesn't sound right either, but i've no idea.

"no bad feelings of pleasing you or changing. I’m changing, forgettin’ you. I forgot him, too. I do not want to."

what she says is, "Forgetting you- I've forgotten to. I do not want to."

She's forgotten to forget someone and now she supposedly doesn't want to forget this person she forgot to forget, and that line makes my brain all mushy. Tongue twister.

i agree with jadedgypsy and downtown on the lyrics.

this song is so amazingly beautiful! her voice is just incredible.

downtown, maybe she means she doesn't want to forget to forget this person anymore, as opposed to not wanting to forget this person? in any case, it's as complicated as any break up could be.
