"'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. I think this is a song about two people who are in serious relationships, but share a special connection and are in love with one another. They can't be with each other because they refuse to break into the other's relationship "I won't challenge your home" so for now it's a fantasy.
Also the song is called For the Actor, acting as though they don't feel this way for each other. And maybe when they talk about it to each other, are around each other...they're "putting their lives on hold"
