Sorry I'm only
Human you know me
Grown up oh no guess again
My days always
Dry up and blow away
Sometimes I could do that too
But make no mistake that
When you need a friend
You could count on anyone
But you know I'll defend
The tragedy that we knew as
The end
Progress, changing
Growing then giving up
Somehow we're never quite prepared
But I understand it
When you need a friend
You could count on anyone
But you know I'll defend
The tragedy that we knew as
The end
So taking you with me would be like
Taking all your money to the grave
It does no good to anyone especially
The one you're trying to save
But it's so hard not to save
When you need a friend
You could count on anyone
But you know I'll defend
The tragedy that we knew as
The end
Human you know me
Grown up oh no guess again
My days always
Dry up and blow away
Sometimes I could do that too
But make no mistake that
When you need a friend
You could count on anyone
But you know I'll defend
The tragedy that we knew as
The end
Progress, changing
Growing then giving up
Somehow we're never quite prepared
But I understand it
When you need a friend
You could count on anyone
But you know I'll defend
The tragedy that we knew as
The end
So taking you with me would be like
Taking all your money to the grave
It does no good to anyone especially
The one you're trying to save
But it's so hard not to save
When you need a friend
You could count on anyone
But you know I'll defend
The tragedy that we knew as
The end

You were friends. Then you were a couple. Then you were just friends again :'(
this person felt it was necessary to let someone go for their own good because this person wasn't good for them. "I'll defend the tragedy we knew as the end" so she doesnt regret the ending because she knows it was for the best no matter how much it hurts the person right now. She is telling them 'you can count on anyone, you have friends who are still there for you even if i cant be'. and she may also be saying that the friends might tell the person 'you guys will patch things back up' but she is saying this will not happen because 'i defend the tragedy that we knew as the end'.
it was hard to let the person go but 'its harder not to save' someone you love.
Well, maybe she is just talking about the loss of a friend...and impossible situations to solve in relationships...but when I listen..I just think,
if I ever try to kill myself...this shall be the song I'll play during the termination...or if maybe I'm contemplating it, and I just need one final push...I can look to this song..and know what to do.
i like bemenow's interpretation of it - when you realize that something is over and you end up having to let go of it, even if you don't want to and not prepared to do so either.
Beautiful song, so sad, but beautiful
