Judy In Disguise (With Glasses) Lyrics

Judy in disguise, well that's what you are
Lemonade pies with a brand new car
Cantaloupe eyes come to me tonight
Judy in disguise, with glasses

Keep a-wearing your bracelets and your new rara
Cross your heart, yah, with your living bra
Chimney sweep sparrow with guise
Judy in disguise, with glasses

Come to me tonight, come to me tonight
Taking everything in sight
Except for the strings on my kite

Judy in disguise, hey that's what you are
Lemonade pie, hey got your brand new car
Cantaloupe eyes come to me tonight
Judy in disguise, with glasses

Come to me tonight, come to me tonight
Taking everything in sight, except for the strings to my kite

(Oh, uh oh, uhhh)
Judy in disguise, what you aiming for
A circus of a-horrors, yea yea, well that's what you are
You made me a life of ashes
I guess I'll just take your glasses

Isn't line 6 'cross your heart' as in cross your heart bras?

Lyric Correction

the correct line is - cross your heart , yeah, with your living bra

It is because the Playtex bra company ran an extensive ad campaign with that slogan

line 7 is wrong too, as rendered it is senseless. my guess at the line is - I'm jealous, wouldn't stop all the guys still might not be right, but I think it is closer

Yes, it is a pun with "Cross Your Heart" bras. The last part of the line is also a brand of bra, the "Living Bra" (I think Playtex made it), so called because it was flexible and conformed to the wearer's shape unlike the body armor bras of the 50s.

I just have to add that I like this song way better than Lucy in the Sky. Lucy in the Sky is so pretentious and self-referential, not to mention musically boring. "Judy in Disguise" is just as lyrically ridiculous, but with a better tune, and you...

This is a fun, catchy song with very simple lyrics. If you think about it for a moment, the silly lyrics do make a certain degree of sense:

It seems to be about a girl that once was rather plain, but became a new person, and got popular -- lemonade pies, bracelets, and her new 'ra-ras' (new upbeat personality?) 'Cantaloupe Eyes" referencing the popular\common style of glasses worn then, big and round.

"Chimney sweep sparrow with guise" - he still knows just plain-jane Judy under a colorful new guise, and is, or was fond of her before this big overhaul.

Just my take!

It's well-known that this is a parody of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," by The Beatles. The songwriters apparently heard different lyrics the first time he listened to "LSD" and decided to pen these lyrics. Personally, I hate this song. Parody songs that make fun of well-written, enjoyable songs usually suck.
