Fear is like a tree
That grows inside of me silently
And you could be my blood
And be a part of me secretly

I've lost a war
I've lost a fight
I've killed a man
Wasted a life

Open my eyes, let me see you
And blow this blinding darkness away
Open my eyes, let me find you
Give me a sign

Hate is like a ghost
That lives inside of me, I plead
For you to be my guide
To be a feeder of my need

I've lost a war
I've lost a fight
I've killed a man
Wasted a life

Open my eyes, let me see you
And blow this blinding darkness away
Open my eyes, let me find you
Give me a sign

Take the world and fold me in
Free the soul behind the sin
The endless dark will be the death of my senses

Take my love and hold it in
Kill the beast under my skin
The endless dark will be the death of my senses

(Open my eyes)
Open my eyes, let me see you
And blow this blinding darkness away
Open my eyes
Open my eyes, let me see you
And blow this blinding darkness away
Open my eyes
Give me a sign

Great Song only two posts? wow. powerful i was at first wondering what the lines "I’ve lost a war I’ve lost a fight I’ve killed a man Wasted a life" meant, but i realized that is could mean himself not that he killed someone else. in this song he seems to be lost and wanting someone to help him ti "open his eyes" to the mistakes he is making.

maybe he was a soldier and he's sorry, trying to get away from the memories of the people he's killed, from the nightmares, only he's in love and his past is getting in their way and he feels like she's the only one who can help him. how come like no-one's commented????

Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Page

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
