Moonshine Lyrics

Well, I've got one memory thats always been with me.
My dad would get up to go surf about 4:30 or 5:00 and sometimes
I would hear him and go out in the living room and he'd be getting is board up,
out of the closet, like right in the dining
room where he kept his board.
And one day I remember the waves were really good.
And um, it was really cool just getting up
and going down there, it was off-shore.
I remember just sitting there watching my dad surf and from that point on,
I always kinda like.. felt like a surfer, you know?
I always knew that I would definitely.. be surfing forever.

Obscure song on an obscure album. There arnt any lyrics to it, just him talking about a memory of his father in the begining. Much like Mud Football, this track really makes me wish i wasnt born in Illinois, how lucky he must be to have these memories living in Hawaii.

Aside from all of that though, the music is really nice. Typical jack johnson bluesy soundin melody...good stuff

This song is the start of the Thicker than Water dvd, and let me tell u the lyrics and the tune say a lot about every surfer. Everyone whose father surfs remembers their dad wakin up at early hours to go out, and the acoustic riff is amazing and soothin and i can hear it without thinkin of the ocean

yeah. jack is from oahu. im from maui. hawaii is the best place on earth to grow up.

and this song makes me feel so strange. i have memories just like this. we used to live in a little beach house when i was growing up, and my dad would wake up every morning at sunrise and hit the surf. jack johnson embodies our lifestyle here.
