Nowhere Warm Lyrics

I go nowhere high
Go nowhere warm
Until I see your smile and feel your calm
And I lick a dime
I crave for you boy
You’re like a parachute descending from the sky

And I’m sure you’re on your way
Yes I’m sure you’re on the road

I go nowhere high
Go nowhere warm
Until you’re by my side
Your hand in mine
And I’ve always known
You’re like a feather
You go where wind and fire melt together

And I’m sure you’re on your way
Yes I’m sure you’re on the road
And I’m sure you’re faster than before
Yes I know you’re somewhere on the road
I reckon there is nothing more to say

from what I gather, this song is about being left behind or forgotten by a lover

I love this song so much. It does seem to be about someone who can only find comfort in their lover's arms but the lover has left so the person pines for their return.

what do they mean "lick a dime"?

Maybe the person the narrator is talking about hasn't left, but is coming back. "I'm sure you're on your way" seems to suggest that she is speaking about him coming back to her. On her way to her, if you will.

And she keeps on saying "Until," suggesting that she will see him again. Soon.

"You go where wind and fire melt together" i love the way that line sounds, although im unsure of its meaning.

I means a lot to me. Whenever I hear it I start to cry. To me, it is about leaving or being apart from someone, being ok with it. Because you know it will all be allright and in your mind the person you aren't with anymore still is with you. ''And I reckon there is nothing more to say'' Is in my opinion the most beautiful sentence in this song. Because you can't help being apart, or that a relationship has ended. And you have to be ok with it. So that final sentence really calms me down.

What Soundaddict says makes sense to me. I feel kind of the same way about this song. For me it's a very sad and unwanted breakup for both the people involved but there's just no other option. And "I'm sure you're on the way" translates to something like: I'm sure that you are trying to get better and solve your problems so we can be together again.
