School Days Lyrics
Up in the morning and out to school
The teacher is teachin' the golden rule
American history and practical math
You studyin' hard and you're hopin' to pass
Ooh you're working your finger right down to the bone
And the guy behind you won't leave you alone
Ring ring goes the bell
The cook in the kitchen's ready to sell
But you're lucky if you can find a seat
You're fortunate if you got time to eat
Well back in the classroom, open your books
Ooh the teacher don't know how mean she looks
Hail hail rock 'n' roll, hail hail rock 'n' roll
Hail hail rock 'n' roll, hail hail rock 'n' roll
Hail hail rock 'n' roll, hail hail rock 'n' rooooooooll
As soon as 3 o'clock goes around
You finally lay your burden down
Throw down your books and outta your seat
You go down the hallway into the street
And you're tryin' to forget just where you've been
You find a juke joint, you go in
You drop the coin right into the slot
You gotta hear something that's really hot, (like me)
With the one you love you're makin' romance
All day long you wanted to dance
And you're feeling the music from head to toe
As round and round and round you go
Get over here
Long live rock 'n' roll, long live rock 'n' roll
Long live rock 'n' roll, long live rock 'n' roll
Long live rock 'n' roll, long live rock 'n' roll, hey
Rock, rock, rock 'n' roll, rock, rock, rock 'n' roll
Rock, rock, rock 'n' roll, rock, rock, rock 'n' roll
Rock, rock, rock 'n' roll, rock, rock, rock 'n' roll, c'mon
Rock, rock, rock 'n' roll, rock, rock, rock 'n' roll
Rock, rock, rock 'n' roll, rock, rock, rock 'n' roll
Rock, rock, rock 'n' roll, rock, rock, rock 'n' roll

WOOOOOOOOOOOOH !!! 1st comment, yay. Beside tht its about going to skool at the time when rock n roll was first getting really popular. the kid in refrence when singin hates skool, but loves being able to get out at end of the day and listen to rock n roll music and enjoy himself. great song, definitely one of my favourite ac/dc songs, even tho its not even theirs!
It's not theirs? You mean it's a cover? Didn't know that. I DO know I love this song. It's so freaking catchy...that "rock rock rock and roll" line gets stuck in my head all the time. I love how all they ever really wrote about was rock and roll or sex or booze...just crap they knew about. It made them seem more real. I agree - I think this song is just about wanting to get out of school and do your own thing.
Its a Chuck Berry song. I'd say Chuck's is better in my opinion, but AC/DC does a great job on it.
