What's your explanation
Cause everybody got one
What's your expectation
I know you got some of those too

Are you one to fly with the creatures that always burn up in the flame
Or are you one to sing with the creatures that make up the rules to the game

I won't get hung up, strung up on the reasons why
If you knew me better, baby you would change your mind
And leave it all behind
What's your explanation

What's your favorite color, your sign
Your basic sense of style and date of birth

Who's gonna win your heart and when your heart's been won
And when your hearts been won is it still your daddy first

Are you one to dance to the rhythm or break till the pain shakes loose
Or are you one to cry
Oh, but you stay dry all night long

I won't hung up, strung up on the reasons why
If I knew you better, maybe I could change your mind
If you knew me better, maybe you will change your mind
And leave it all behind
What's your explanation

Are you one to fly with the creatures that always burn up in the flame
Or are you one to sing with the creatures that make up the rules to the game

What's your explanation
What's your explanation
What's your explanation
Cause everybody got one
Cause everybody got one
Everybody got one

this is the best song on the "for me it's you LP". I think this is about a guy who tries to win a girls heart, but she's not sure about her feelings. He thinks that he can convince her when she wants to explore his real character, but she's undecided yet. She's a mystery to the guy who adores her - a little maybe because she is a mystery.

The creatures that fly up and burn in the flame means for me to deicde against the public meaning or expectations that will tell you it will be better not to be together. The singing creatures are the society or the public making the rules - let's say they are not willing to accept being together.

The guy isn't sure about the upcoming decision of his girl and even when he denies the effects on him by talking "I won't hung up, strung up" but he's seriously hit in his heart if she declines him. All in all he's willing to love her against all odds and tries to make her feel the same.

All in all beautiful song. Train are a terrific group, even when I miss on the For me it's you the strong ballads like they have been in a Drops of Jupiter or My Private Nation LP. so long.

I agree with the opinion that this is the best song on "For Me, It's You." Most of the songs on that album are about Pat Monahan's divorce, but I don't think this particular song is about his ex-wife. It's not clear from the album credits who wrote each song on this album, so I can't say for sure that this song seems to be about a new, mysterious woman that Pat is interested in -- but that's my best guess.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
