I saw my baby
She was turning blue
I knew that soon, her
Young life was through
And so I got down on my knees
Down by her bed
And these are the words
To her I said

Everything will be alright tonight
Everything will be alright tonight

No one moves
No one talks
No one thinks
No one walks tonight

Everyone will be alright tonight
Everyone will be alright tonight

No one moves
No one talks
No one thinks
No one walks tonight
Tonight

I am gonna love her till the end
I am gonna love her till the end
I will love her till I die
I will see her in the sky
Tonight
Tonight
Tonight
Tonight
Tonight

Hi!
Thanks
Alright, I have a pretty good job
It's, it's good to have a job
But no matter what job you have
Do you kind of find after you get it
Oh shit! There are some shit that goes through this that I didn't think of
A little game play, a little politics, a little evil
No rest, constant stress
That's why I say sometimes

Drug death! I love that song, you can hear Bowies background voice ... simply amazing! But his cover wasn't very good...

    My Interpretation

This beautiful song is about a heroin-addicted guy, who comes home, only to see his girlfriend downed on the ground. In a glimp of a second, he knows that his girlfriend has succumbed to her death by a drug overdose. Perhaps both have tried to get clean of it and she has become weak and overdosed herself after getting some grip on it, while he was away.

(It is not uncommon for drug addicts to kill themselves after some time of being clean, because they shoot themselves the same dose, they were using BEFORE getting clean and killing themselves because their body can't handle that much drugs after getting clean for a while...)

He sees her, lying on the ground, already getting blue and he knows, that she has already been gone. He could have cried (and mourned) for her, but instead, he takes her dead body, not caring for her (already passed out) state, and comforting her "everything will gonna be already, tonight", only to comfort his helpless self, who feels himself as helpless as a child, just as she would still be alive, but unconsciouss.

The only being who still have bound him to this world, has passed? No! That can't be true! "Everything will be alright, tonight, [honey]" He shakes her in his arms. He shakes her in her arm, "to the end". "I'm gonna love her to the end, I'm gonna lover her to the end, I will love her till die, I will see her on the other side, tonight!"

He will see her, tonight, on the other side.

PS: This is not written to glorify anything about it! My both parents died to heroin (or its consequential damages). I saw them dying to it. There is nothing glamorous to it. Please excuse my bad language, because english is not my native tongue, and I am not very good at making myself understood, most of the times.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
