The light in your eyes beckons to me
It beckons so quietly, but I hear it clearly
You start walking towards me
Taking my breath and fearlessly setting me free

Oh, I feel it being drawn out
The blood flowing steadily into your mouth
This dark night, cruel and cold
You whisper softly, "Honey, you'll never grow old"

Looking back at the crowd
Back at the party
I step outside and disappear swiftly
Oh, I feel it being drawn out

The pain of life fading, going down south
Lost in the wake of my wedding
And caught here at these old crossroads
I can never leave

I think I've been fooled
Why am I not dressed in white?
With eyes full of glory and wine
I'll be your eternal bride

I'll be here forever
Here, on this night
Why am I not dressed in white?
I need you near me

I think I've been fooled
I need you near me
I think I've been fooled
You carry me over the crossroads

And I'm lost on this cold, dark night
Why am I not dressed in white?
I carry a mandrake in my bouquet
And I shiver when it screams

I carry a mandrake in my bouquet
And I shiver when it screams
The light in your eyes is still calling to me
Taking my whole world and setting it spinning

Knowing my weakness, the spark lies in the sand
Taking my hand, you lead me into the dance
Oh, I feel it being drawn out
My soul is rushing right into your mouth

How could you take me away from the party?
I think I've been fooled
How could you take me away from the party?
I think I've been fooled

I need you near me
I think I've been fooled
I carry a mandrake in my bouquet
And I shiver when it screams

I need you near me
I think I've been fooled
I carry a mandrake in my bouquet
And I shiver when it screams

With eyes full of lust and light
I'll be your eternal bride
I'll be here forever
Here, on this night

Oh, why am I not dressed in white?
Something is not right
Will the light spark?

well i think the meaning of the song is obvious, but i enjoy explaining what i've taken from the song anyway :D

so i'm guessing this must be the Victorian era or earlier because i interpret this as a girl who was forced into a miserable marriage, as was often the case in those days, and wants an escape.

so it's her wedding day. seems to me that they already said their vows and now it's the reception and in the distance, she can see fangyboy beckoning. she's miserable and hates what she just did, vowing herself to someone she doesn't love, so she comes to him where he lures her in and tells her pretty things such as "you'll never grow old if you join me" and probably other things not mentioned in the song. she's enthralled and lets him take her. she's no longer pure and no longer dressed in white.

in my imagination, she is now going to wed this vampire and she all of a sudden is in a different dress and her bride's bouquet has a mandrake. i imagine everything around her changing, including atmosphere. things are becoming frightening. she now realizes what she's done, hence the line "i think i've been fooled" and she's realizing she pledged herself to this powerful being and things are not as pretty as they once seemed. she's scared and having 2nd thoughts....but it's too late.

but at the same time, she would never want to go back to what was waiting for her before this mysterious man came. so it seems she's torn between wanting to be away from the old life but at the same time, still fearing her new life. but it doesn't matter anyway. she's past the point of no return.

now she's dependent on this vampire and "need[s him] near [her]" and still has a bit of optimism about this enchanting but fearsome situation

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
