It's in the way he says he loves
It's never enough
I wish that he could feel inside
What its like
I lost my way I couldn't face
Til one day
My world came crashing down
I had to break

No no no no no
You took a bite
You spit me out
A million times before
I've heard them shout
You couldn't change
It's a shame
I'm a nobody
I'm a nobody

Tears away wears away
My heart
From a baby to the little girl
This girl I know
She had the perfect life
Was the perfect wife
Had the perfect life
Was the perfect

But its in the way he says he loves
It's never enough

No no no no no
You took a bite
You spit me out
A million times before
I've heard them shout
You couldn't change
It's a shame
I'm a nobody
I'm A nobody

He'd surprise me when he'd come around

No no no no no
You took a bite
You spit me out
A million times before
I've heard them shout
You couldn't change
It's a shame
I'm a nobody
I'm A nobody

No no no no no no

I think this song is about being discontent even though you have everything that you could really ask for. The image that comes to mind is someone who has enough money to buy anything that they really desire, but not geniune affection and love, but hey that is me.

i can kind of c that

but i think its more about an abusive relationship

she had the perfect life was the perfect wife had the perfect life was the perfect

but its in the way he says he loves it’s never enough

i think shes implying that she has tried to b everything he wanted but it is never enught for him

    a million times before I’ve heard them shout you couldn’t change it’s a shame I’m a nobody

and the guy makes her feel like shit

man i love this band i cant wait to c them again in austin for SXSW i saw them last year at SXSW and with she wants revenge to tell u the truth i enjoyed this band more than i enjoyes SWR and im like SWR biggest fan

I was front row!!!! next to the speeakers and i can tell u there bass player is awasome

I think the song is about a girl that fell in love with an emotionally unavailabe man. She thought she could fix him and tried to be perfect and did everything she could to make him happy, but then realized that he would never love her. Everyone knew he was bad for her, but she stayed in it b/c she really believed that she saw the real him and she could help him become that person, until he pushed her away so far that she finally broke down and saw the truth. When it ended he treated her like she never meant anything to him and she was just another girl.

i totally agree with the song being about an abusive relationship.. "It’s in the way he says he loves It’s never enough I wish that he could feel inside What its like I lost my way I couldn’t face til one day My world came crashing down I had to break " he always tells her that he loves her, but she knows that its not enough to stay, she wants him to know how she feels, but of course he wont...she didnt know what to do and she broke down "No no no no no You took a bite you spit me out a million times before I’ve heard them shout you couldn’t change It’s a shame I’m a nobody I’m a nobody" he "took a bite" makes me think of him beating her..people warned her about him when they shouted...she couldnt change his abusive ways, and she belittles herself and thinks of herself as a nobody because of it

"tears away wears away my heart from a baby to the little girl this girl I know she had the perfect life was the perfect wife had the perfect life was the perfect" it eats her alive..the little girl she refers to is herself...the whole "perfect" thing i imagine as a lie..she leads a life of self hatred, but she lies and says everything is just "perfect", when in reality it isnt

but thats just my opinion..such a great sad song

    I agree with marcy80.

He says he loves her but she doesn't believe it.

Everyone told her "he wouldn't change" And since he can't even change for her she feels like a nobody to him, since people change for others they care about or love.

He's always going to be a cheat but she doesn't care because she loves him. And he's probably into someone else, and it hurts her.

Then the "he'd suprise me when he'd come around" probably meant he never bothered her before she always had to go to him and now that he's finally come she's . . . "suprised" :]

This song really hurt me when I broke up with my boyfriend.((lame. i know)) But I totally love it. I Love MONSTER ARE WAITING I can't wait for the new album. And I hope to see them live some day. And I lovers all you MAW fans :DDDD

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
