Hey everybody, have y'all lost your minds?
Haven't met another gentleman in quite a long time?
No pleases, no thank you's, no opening doors, seems like all the gentleman jumped ship, become assholes & whores.
No respect, expect disrespect, it's eclectic, make everything sound so hectic.
As if the rat race wasn't won, by society's coming undone.
I'm tired, not stupid, reputation, not lucrative, enough I guess, no, enough not yet, well, emotions writing poems,
hide the rhymes, constantly change time, talk about lies, loved & lost, long goodbyes, styles change

So did I, so did I, long goodbyes, long goodbyes.

Change the subject to love, come so close the smell hangs in your lungs.
Haven't died trying, can't keep from prying, how'd you do it once before, amidst, assholes & whores, assholes & whores, assholes & whores.

Emotions writing poems, hide the rhymes, constantly change time, talk about lies, loved and lost, long goodbyes, styles change

So did I, so did I, long goodbyes, long goodbyes

Funny you get tired of daydreams, & midnight screams, getting your heart pulled out with a tractor beam.
Hurts just as much or more as the first time, the last time, the worst time, stylistic, artistic, aristocratic, fanatic, stopped a few steps short of just gosh damn fucking fantastic.
Work of art, straight from the heart, heard it all before, shook you straight down to the core, leaves you gasping, & gasping, & thinking you wanted more.

Heard it all before, yeah, I've heard it all before, yeah I've heard it all before, I've heard it all before, if I haven't heard it, I've heard it all before

Long goodbyes, yeah
Long goodbyes, yeah
Long goodbyes, long goodbyes, long goodbyes
Say a long
Say a long, say a long goodbye

it's about how everyone in our society has either become an asshole or a whore and how we all need to learn some manners so we can live in a better world.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.
