Some kind of friction has scarred me, but created your new style. My reasons to endure used to be based around who you were and your brilliant passion that could blaze right in front of a perfect stranger. This is my downfall- my blemish. I've been told before. Quit holding on to what she was. She doesn't recognize you or herself anymore. She's stuck in the process of embracing what crumbles and when it happens there wil be no apologies. She chose to collapse what held her, and if not cautious there may never be a cradle to soften her descent, like clouds. New shapes are taken, but they're not always actual. They're never tangible. It's so brutal to see someone give it all up or nothing and having no power to stop them.

This song is about seeing someone giving up and stop caring about his own life, and you (the man who watching from the side) can do anything to help them .

I think the last line is "give it all up for nothing". Anyway, this song's about seeing someone you care about just start screwing around and messing up and not letting them drag you down too. Hence, it's "too late for roses" to make the situation better.

"Quit holding on to what she was. She doesn't recognize you or herself anymore." Again, someone you once cared for begins her downfall and, it seems it will only become worst. Great song and band

I love this song. It's not as monotoneos as the other ones usually are - constand bashing basically. I'm not used to that style I guess. The melody in between is fitting.

Now this is what metalcore is about. ABR are another great metalcore band who use a different form of lyrical writing, where it seems more like the band is trying to tell you something. It makes them so much easier to interperate, and it also strengthens the meaning without the bullshit cliche "romance and suicide" theme plenty of bands are doing lyrically.

Anyway, i think this song is about a guy who had just left a serious relationship, but then he's begins to be sucked in by her, and they are trying to tell him to move on and get over her, because he is only making things worse.

    This song is about

Every song on thrill seeker corresponds to one of the seven deadly sins. In this case rage vs forgivness. Although he has been hurt by this girl who has changed so much for the worst, he shows compassion and caring. Instead of feeling rage towards this girl for what she has done he forgives and continues to care for her.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Just A Little Lovin'
Dusty Springfield
I don't think it's necessarily about sex. It's about wanting to start the day with some love and affection. Maybe a warm cuddle. I'm not alone in interpreting it that way! For example: "'Just a Little Lovin’ is a timeless country song originally recorded by Eddy Arnold in 1954. The song, written by Eddie Miller and Jimmy Campbell, explores the delicate nuances of love and showcases Arnold’s emotive vocals. It delves into the universal theme of love and how even the smallest gesture of affection can have a profound impact on our lives." https://oldtimemusic.com/the-meaning-behind-the-song-just-a-little-lovin-by-eddy-arnold/

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
