I don't know what you've been told
That streets should be paved with gold
I can't know just what you read
But health is all the wealth I need
Birds and squirrels and bees and trees
All the things that ride the breeze
Money makes the world go round
Drags it down and burns it out
I am the caveman
I am the timebomb
Who's got the gameplan
This is the anthem
Fire fire
Burning higher
Making music
Like a choir
That streets should be paved with gold
I can't know just what you read
But health is all the wealth I need
Birds and squirrels and bees and trees
All the things that ride the breeze
Money makes the world go round
Drags it down and burns it out
I am the caveman
I am the timebomb
Who's got the gameplan
This is the anthem
Fire fire
Burning higher
Making music
Like a choir

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
Lightning Bolt are the fucking best
Freaky lyrics. In the beginning it seems to simply celebrate straight-edgedness, but then it this sort of militant terrorist anthem.
straight edge, militant terroism? not sure i follow you.
this song looks to me like its criticizing the importance and control of money in modern society.
Militant terrorism? This is just fucking amazing. There is no way, unless you know the artist to know what was going on in their heads when the lyrics were written. Just listen and love.
Classic.
Yeah, I agree with dustyshoes, just listen to it and be blown away... (Maybe the drummer was improvising and came up with these lyrics, who knows)
amazing lyrics.
Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels was a cartoon in the late 70's. Perhaps the lyrics could somehow also be associated with the show?
Anyways, I do like this song a lot, and the lyrics are pretty cool.
about as overtly political as this band seems to be, with the exception of the blatant call for the assassination of the then President (in "cowboy"). it is a fine line to walk between dry subject and humourous lyricism. i really like this song.
