First time that I saw your face
I was blown away without a trace
I felt so alone on a busy street
When you passed me by
I felt my feet melt away
Melt away

I pray to God that I could meet
Somebody like the girl that I'd just seen
Someone that can stop me dead
Someone that will spin round, in my head, all day
In my head, all day

Someday I will fly with you
Someday I will fly with you

That night I saw her again
Was the first time I touched her hand
She made me feel so warm
We talked all night, til the dawn came our way
Til the dawn came our way

But the timing was all wrong
When I met the one, I should've known
Instead I walked away
Leaving behind my destiny on that day
My destiny on that day

Someday I will fly with you
Someday I will fly with you

But I still see her face
In my mind, it's the only place
And we will meet again
And I will touch your hand again, on that day
Your hand again, on that day

Someday I will fly with you
Someday I will fly with you
Someday I will fly with you
Someday I will fly with you

Its pretty obvious what this song means. A guy meets a girl and he doesnt end up with her. but in the end he hopes he will be with her....i hope that makes sense at least i think it does. This song stood out the most on See the sun for me Its just so NICE!

i know i'm supposed to be giving my own spin on what the song means. but.. this song reminds me of someone i used to know.. haha sorry. i know it's annoying when everyone posts that on here but. this song is really sad. to me it's about a guy meeting a girl who is right for him in every way. and they adore each other, but he let's her go, because of personal issues. in my case.. my one was afraid of commitment, and scared of being hurt.

i think that this song is about a person.. who meets someone and just by bein aroiund them they know w/e their doin is right and all the things they think about or have thought about that they dont like just disappears cus their with this person .. and no matter wat happens they just feel comfy and safe and ... happy? and even tho they feel this way about eachother .. it doesnt matter cus of things goin on between eachothers lives.. they cant b together ..and it tears him apart cus he thinks about her all day ...i know its hard for some to find happyness .. and i can relate narlek .. i never woulda thought i would b put in this kinda situation or even cared for someone like that .. but guess life finds a way xD .. and just as it opens oppurtunitys it crushes them

It's basically a love song of regret.

"But the timing was all wrong When I met the one, I should've known Instead I walked away Leaving behind my destiny on that day"

The song is about him hoping that he will get a second chance.

It seems to me (possibly only me, but who knows) that the third verse ("That night I saw her again...") is a dream. So he only imagines that he touches her hand, and they talk all night. Then the dawn comes and he wakes up, and he wants what he had in the dream.

Reminds me of an experience I had earlier this year (oh no, not one of these again!), when I met a girl on the train, we had a wonderful conversation, then I had to get off, and neglected to get her phone number, or even her name for that matter. I still regret it to this day...

i think its about a guy that really loves a girl - and she had left him and he is thinking will they get back together??, he was blown away by her presence when he first met her and only loves her and he only wants to be with her. maybe the timing was wrong and maybe they should try again....

I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
