Down On The Farm Lyrics
His mind has gone astray
Cos we don't need none today
Did you hear what I say?
Don't need none today
City life's a real bad habit
All the boys are down on the farm
City life's a real bad habit
C'mon along it won't do you no harm
We're goin' down on the farm
His mind has gone astray
Cos we don't need none today
Did you hear what I say?
Don't need none today
City life's a real bad habit
All the boys are down on the farm
Gonna run a rainbow
Gonna run a rainbow
Gonna run a rainbow
City life's a real bad habit
C'mon along it won't do you no harm
All the boys are down on the farm

Maybe Jim Morrison's trying to say that the country life's much better but the city lifes more addictive.

He got back at his hard-working dad, though, but stealing for a year or so and hiding the stolen goods under his dad's porch. Just recently he...

He never returned to the farm and even today (in his 80's) still resents farm life...'cause it was NOT easy living back in the day. He got back at his hard-working dad, though, but stealing for a year or so and hiding the stolen goods under his dad's porch. Just recently he explained that he didn't want or need the items; he just wanted to stick it to his father whom he resented for all the responsiblities he was forced to have at such a young age. Love my uncle (a good good man), and can understand the addictive qualities of city life...nobody knows you or your business; there's fun to be had w/o responsibility; etc.
Is it a song? I have slept over on a farm and awakened to the sun shining in through the windows; the smell of hay; beautiful animals just outside the window; and the sheer peace that accompanies such a morning.

@sexdrugsrocknroll Jim had nothing to do with this song. Literally nothing.
