There in the summer of my new obsession
all of my dreams started in the depression
8 in the morning and I got your letter
sealed with a kiss
P.S things will get better

And I never say no to you
And I never say no to you

Get me up early and so motivated
life as we know it is so overrated
you are the best thing that I'm never needing
safe in this world that is restless and feeding

And I never say no to you.
And I never say no to you.

You say everything will be
everything will be alright
You say everything will be alright

Come to my rescue whenever I call
Knock on my door if ever I fall
Come to my rescue whenever I call
Say you will, say you will, say you will, say you will
Knock on my door if ever I fall,
Just say you will, say you will, say-

you say everything will be alright, everything will be alright
you say everything will be alright

Say you will (repeat)
will be alright

To me, it seems to be about trying to stay friends with an ex. He just wants everything to be alright between them again and he's having some trust issues.

Well, kinda-sorta? This is a great song though, this band could definitely be big someday.

I really love the song. Only thing is that two of the lines are "You are the best thing that I've ever needed Safe in this world that is restless and greedy" instead of you are the best thing that I'm never needing safe in this world that is restless and feeding"

I even looked it up in the CD booklet-thing just to make sure!

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
