In regards to the meaning of this song:
Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.”
That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

This song definitely hits home for me as well and I think that it is going to for anyone who has been in a relationship that didnt work. Just recently a guy that I was "talking" to decided that he had a lot going on and that he just wanted to be friends and I honestly can't believe how devistated I am. Usually I just take everything in stride, count it as the other persons loss and move on. However this time I feel like I can't.

There isn't an hour that goes by that I don't think of him. Just the other night my roommate inquired as to when that last time was that I was actually happy and I couldn't answer her. I wish I knew his "secret" to letting go so that I can do the same.
