I'll die smiling
something the past
someone said to me will
make me laugh
and ill lay back and fade way

let me go ill be fine,
frozen here in time,
sick of being alive

eaten up inside
let. me. die.
go away
i never got what i wanted
i never got what i needed
whats on my mind
who can say?
its my invention i'm beating
i can not stop all this bleeding

ill be ready
give me the morphine and ill go to sleep
as i dream maybe i will just slide away

let me go ill be fine,
frozen here in time
sick of being alive

eaten up inside
let. me. die.
go away
i never got what i wanted
i never got what i needed
whats on my mind?
who can say?
its my invention i'm beating
i can not stop all this bleeding

eaten up inside
let. me. die.
go away
i never got what i wanted
i never got what i needed
whats on my mind?
who can say?
its my invention i'm beating
i can not stop all this bleeding

eaten up inside

The meaning of this song is pretty evident in the lyrics. This song is a very good song though Jon really hits those notes and shows his vocal range. Awesome song!

He's depressed. Simply, just sick of this world. Nothings fair, and he gotten the shitty hand in life. He's ready to die, it's what he wants, dreams, and hopes for. Just sick of being alive.

This song should have been included on the actual album. The previous 2 posts have pretty much summed up what the song is about. I love the middle where David goes crazy on the drums.

I sometimes think that some songs on the album should be replaced with the songs on the deluxe edition. Then SYOTOS would be my favorite.

This song is about how Jon Davis would let a new born baby drown in a tub full of piss and shit. After the baby's pores soaked up every liquid, Jon would violently penetrate his father's asshole with the baby. The baby would eat up his insides starting with his baseball kidney stones. The baby was black so it just made it sound sexy.

that's really disturbing, about the baby. This is my favorite song off the album though.

Yeah. That does sounds sick. Like Cannibal Corpse sick. Vomit crazy. Thats revenge in the coldest way. That would make The Punisher look like a nancy boy.

Anyways this song should've really made the album. Good song though. That is all.

This song is about how Jon used to get Tony Robbins to go up his asshole and eat all the shit out. Hence, he feels "eaten up inside". I get the same feeling when my dog explores my tight asshole while I'm sleeping. Lucky he's just an ankle biter, because if he was a Doberman my asshole would bleed.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
