I say it's about a vampire. I see Till as it and Sharleen as his chosen. "Die Nacht öffnet ihren Schoß Das Kind heißt Einsamkeit Es ist kalt und regungslos Ich weine leise in die Zeit Ich weiß nicht wie du heißt Doch ich weiß dass es dich gibt Ich weiß dass irgendwann irgendwer mich liebt"

This symbolizes how alone he is (because he is immortal) and how he's hoping someone will love him for who he is.

"He comes to me every night No words are left to say With his hands around my neck I close my eyes and pass away

I don't know who he is In my dreams he does exist His passion is a kiss And I can not resist"

The first is where he is just using Sharleen to feed, and the second reveals that she is either in love with him or caught in his thrall.

"Ich warte hier Don't die before I do Ich warte hier Stirb nicht vor mir"

Vampires must rest in a coffin, in an almost death-like state. This could symbolize him telling her that he isn't dead, but she thinks he might be.

"I don't know who you are I know that you exist Stirb nicht Sometimes love seems so far Ich warte hier Your love I can't dismiss Ich warte hier"

Here she knows he is a vampire, but what she has been lead to believe in society is warring with what she knows is real. Till is still in the coffin.

"Alle Häuser sind verschneit Und in den Fenstern Kerzenlicht Dort liegen sie zu zweit Und ich Ich warte nur auf dich"

This could mean an immense passage of time and she is in a tomb, or that she has found another lover and Till still waits for her.

Sorry that was so long =/

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

American Town
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran shares a short story of reconnecting with an old flame on “American Town.” The track is about a holiday Ed Sheeran spends with his countrywoman who resides in America. The two are back together after a long period apart, and get around to enjoying a bunch of fun activities while rekindling the flames of their romance.
