Stirb Nicht Vor Mir Lyrics

Die Nacht öffnet ihren Schoß
Das Kind heißt Einsamkeit
Es ist kalt und regungslos
Ich weine leise in die Zeit
Ich weiß nicht wie du heißt
Doch ich weiß dass es dich gibt
Ich weiß dass irgendwann
irgendwer mich liebt

He comes to me every night
No words are left to say
With his hands around my neck
I close my eyes and pass away

I don't know who he is
In my dreams he does exist
His passion is a kiss
And I can not resist

Ich warte hier
Don't die before I do
Ich warte hier
Stirb nicht vor mir

I don't know who you are
I know that you exist
Stirb nicht
Sometimes love seems so far
Ich warte hier
Your love I can't dismiss
Ich warte hier

Alle Häuser sind verschneit
Und in den Fenstern Kerzenlicht
Dort liegen sie zu zweit
Und ich
Ich warte nur auf dich

Ich warte hier
Don't die before I do
Ich warte hier
Stirb nicht vor mir

I don't know who you are
I know that you exist
Stirb nicht
Sometimes love seems so far
Ich warte hier
Your love I can't dismiss

I don´t really know what this song is exactly about, but the phrase "stirb nicht vor mir" is so nice, it reminds me of old love. Although Till´s voice is so calm, and it´s weird to listen to him with a woman on what it seems to me a love song...i just love it!

well done rammstein i love this song ,its so different to all of their other songs. when i hear this song it reminds me of old love but i also think that maybe this song has a few meanings.

i think that some of this song is about a women with alzheimers who forgets 'I don't know who you are' and has forgotten who the man she loves , but then listening to another part of the song it makes me think of someone in a love-hate relationship that is violent but the women still loves the man and that is why she says dont die before i do

i think this is not a love song but in fact a very sad song of very sad people. it's about lonelyness. both the man and the woman feel like they are all alone in the world and that there's nobody who really loves them. All they can do is dream about that someday somebody will love them.

i have to agree with you sumkinda monster. this song just makes me want to cry, because i can definitely relate to the emotion till and sharleen project in their voices. just an absolutely beautiful song by them

I say it's about a vampire. I see Till as it and Sharleen as his chosen. "Die Nacht öffnet ihren Schoß Das Kind heißt Einsamkeit Es ist kalt und regungslos Ich weine leise in die Zeit Ich weiß nicht wie du heißt Doch ich weiß dass es dich gibt Ich weiß dass irgendwann irgendwer mich liebt"

This symbolizes how alone he is (because he is immortal) and how he's hoping someone will love him for who he is.

"He comes to me every night No words are left to say With his hands around my neck I close my eyes and pass away

I don't know who he is In my dreams he does exist His passion is a kiss And I can not resist"

The first is where he is just using Sharleen to feed, and the second reveals that she is either in love with him or caught in his thrall.

"Ich warte hier Don't die before I do Ich warte hier Stirb nicht vor mir"

Vampires must rest in a coffin, in an almost death-like state. This could symbolize him telling her that he isn't dead, but she thinks he might be.

"I don't know who you are I know that you exist Stirb nicht Sometimes love seems so far Ich warte hier Your love I can't dismiss Ich warte hier"

Here she knows he is a vampire, but what she has been lead to believe in society is warring with what she knows is real. Till is still in the coffin.

"Alle Häuser sind verschneit Und in den Fenstern Kerzenlicht Dort liegen sie zu zweit Und ich Ich warte nur auf dich"

This could mean an immense passage of time and she is in a tomb, or that she has found another lover and Till still waits for her.

Sorry that was so long =/

@Metzgermeister I think he's talking about an incubus, not a vampire. An incubus is a demon that enters the dreams of woman and engages in sexual activity in order to have a child. It is classified as a male counterpart of the female succubus, who engaged in sexual activity with men. Like the succubi, incubi wore out their partners with constant sex and would even kill them.

The Incubus is just as beautiful and desired as his female counter part the succubus.

"Alle Häuser sind verschneit Und in den Fenstern Kerzenlicht Dort liegen sie zu zweit Und ich Ich warte nur auf dich"

"All houses are snow-covered And in the windows candle light There they lie in twos (together) And I I wait only for you"

I love this song... It was introduced to me by a guy that was on my culinary team.

I much like the whole vampire idea... the only reasons I would have to disagree are that they never really make a referrence to any common vampiric stereotypes, they never mention how much time passes, and that they already have a vampire-based song =) Obviously it's a love song. They dream about each other every night, but they don't know who the other one is. Having one person singing in German and one person singing in English somewhat supports my theory for that the message is that there's someone for everyone, even if you have to go to another country to find them.

I think he's talking about an incubus, not a vampire
