I'll take this as easy as I can make it seem
You'll keep me, me guessing
Act like you still believe

There's a time and place for everything
The words you spoke, the words he said
How could this happen to me
Wake up and turn around
You gave the flame, its burning out
And now you mean nothing to me...

You make it so easy to just walk away
You'll take me for granted
As we both know you have

There's a time and place for everything
The words you spoke, the words he said
How could this happen to me
Wake up and turn around
You gave the flame, its burning out
And now you mean nothing to me...

And so replace every dream you had
Find your way back home this time you'll be on your own
Ill be waiting there with you hope
The hopes of better days and a love that won't fade away
I've been feeling so lost but I won't let it show
Into your arms I've fallen once again

So I wake up, wake up
How could this happen to me
So I wake up, wake up
Don't let it burn out on me

This is my first comment on the site & yay it's for this band. I love all of the songs. Just Surrender is amazing; I love them to death.

This song means a lot to me. I relate to the words & feeling of the song in general.

To me it's about him having feelings for a girl, she once had feelings for him or led him on to believe she did but she is with another guy now and it's hurting him, but he doesn't want to show it. He wants to pretend that she means nothing to him but he still has feelings for her.

    Just my opinion. Who knows.

"you gave the flame it's burning out and now you mean nothing to me you make it so easy just to walk away"

i love them. from the moment i heard them. goodness gracious. how is there only ONE comment on this song? it's simply amazing. and i can relate to it on so many levels.

the quote that i quoted says it all. at one point in our lives... we've met someone who has taken us for granted. or has pushed us to the edge--in a sense that we give in. we give up. where it would be impossible to keep fighting. &sooner or later. as pessimistic as it sounds... that person has no meaning to you anymore.

nicely done, boys. the lyrics are great.

i agree wiff heartfelt that a guy really likes a girl and she says she likes him back and kindof that she says she doesnt have a bf anymore only him but she does and he doesnt wanna hurt so hes trying to convince himself to hate her but he just can't. because he could never hate her but he feels lost and wont let it show and really wants her to be his own and he still has hopes that she can be his for real not just her saying she likes him

yeah i think you get the picture

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

Blink-182
This is a sequel to 2001's "Reckless Abandon", and features the band looking back on their clumsy youth fondly.

Head > Heels
Ed Sheeran
“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
