Here in the night love takes control
Making me high
Making me whole
Here in the night love takes control
Making me high
Making me whole
I don't know
Oh, no, no, no
No, I don't know
No, no, no
No, I don't know

When I close my eyes, I can see you lowering yourself to my level
I don't know where you got those clothes
You can take them off if it makes you feel better

Don't stop it now
Now is so right
Now as the day slips away
And we slide into night
I don't know
Oh, no, no, no
No, I don't know know
No, no, no
No, I don't know

I open my eyes and you're there
Even better in the flesh, it would seem
I'm so ready and willing and able it's untrue
To act out this love scene
And make my dreams come true
And how many others have touched themselves whilst looking at pictures of you?
How many others could handle it if all their dreams came true?
I don't expect you to answer straight away
Maybe you're just having an off day
But I need to believe in you
Yes I do
Yes I do

Oh, I want you here in my head
Here in my heart
Here in my head
Live all your dreams for tonight
Here in your bed
I don't know
Oh, no, no, no
No, I don't know
No, no, no
No, I don't know

So roll the soundtrack and dim the lights
'Cause I'm not going home tonight
This love scene has begun
There's nothing left but get it on
Let's make this the greatest love scene from a play no-one's thought up yet
I know you're feeling the same as me but what you gonna do about it?
Now here's an exclusive
I've wanted you for years
I only needed the balls to admit it
When the unbelievable object meets the unstoppable force
There's nothing you can do about it
No
I will light your cigarette with a star that has fallen from the sky
Breathe in, breathe out
I love the way you move
Don't let anyone tell you any different tonight
You are beauty, you are class
You showed it all, but you still kept a little piece back just for me
A little piece back just for me
Just for me
Oh, I don't know how you do it
But I love the way you do it
When you're doing it to me
Na-na-na-na, na-na-na, na-na-na
And if this is a dream then I'm going to sleep for the rest of my life
For the rest of my life
For the rest of my life
For the rest of my life
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo

damn... is he actually with this girl? i'm sortof thinking that he is just fantasizing... especially since he says and make my dreams come true. And how many others have touched themselves whilst looking at pictures of you? How many others could handle it if all their dreams came true? it really makes me think that maybe she's just a girl from a magazine or something and he wants to live out his fantasies with her

I get the idea that they didn't want it to be like a Barry White song - like, come bask in how sexy I am. But he's moved on from just basking in how sexy she is, too. It's like both of the people in the song have wanted each other for ages, they're each the object of the other's fantasies, and now they finally get to play it out... I think?

mm this song, is so love/hate for me... I dunno why i can't stop hearing it (actually im hearing it now).. maybe just revolutionize my hormones... And sometimes the sound is pretty good, especially in the "I don't know. Oh no no no."

But God! how I hate the title... :P

I don't think that the character is fantasising, he probably touched himself looking a picture of her in the past, he dreamed with her a long time, and now he meet her and is gonna make his dreams come true... It's basically a song about how a simple dream can become true when you're famous and powerful... or maybe not xD

I'm surprised at the negativity - I love this song. And the line "I will light your cigarette with a star that has fallen from the sky"... the perfect mix of seedy and pure.

I think this song is extremely creepy and kind of stalkeresque. Same plot/ person as This Is Hardcore?

I quite like this track. Like a lot of Pulp songs it's a very sexual song done in a very sexy manner, unlike say a typical RnB track talking about booty and titties which is crass and totally in your face.

Without wanting to sound like some greasy, bristling chest hair 'ladies man' this track is nice to listen to in the early hours of the morning when you are spending the night in bed with someone special.

Listen to this with the lights out, lying by yourself, or with the object of your desires, drift along with the hypnotic lyrics and the wash over strings, then decide for yourself whether this is about reality or fantasy, or both. Whatever you decide this song will never leave you, whether you find it sensual or seedy!

    Great title crap song.

Sorry, I want to like it but while about half of Hardcore is some of Pulp's best work the other half is decidedly average.

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
