I felt you cut free
Turning cold shoulders to me
Growing blame lines
Communicating lies
Nothing more to trust
Fallacies of love
Killing all that holds you

Bring me back to this
What you said useless
Leave me (leave me)
I'll shed my skin these scars will mend

Don't worry about me
The heart is supposed to bleed
Purity is drained
Help each other die
I see it
I see it in your eyes
Killing all that holds you

Bring me back to this
What you said useless
Leave me (leave me)
I'll shed my skin these scars will mend

Eyes twitch and lies itch of nervous
Eyes twitch and lies itch from a nervous ending
Innocence is ugly in the one who is guilty

Bring me back to this
What you said useless
Leave me (leave me)
I'll shed my skin these scars will mend

great bass line at the beginning, beautiful lyrics. dynamic changes. it seems to me like he crossed the line (with someone he loved) and they can say nothing to make him feel like he hasnt done something wrong. he's confessing and saying that it's better that (that) person go because he'll learn from what he's done in the end.

    My Opinion

Well I just left a toxic relationship. It reached heights of pleasure and torment I've never experienced. And my belief is that he and I played exactly opposing roles. I always saw him leaving me. He always felt smothered. Eventually, the internet gave me insight to the problem (check the link below if curious).

We were addicted to each other. But he is outwardly afraid of attachment and inwardly afraid of abandonment. On the opposing side (my side), I am afraid of abandonment and inwardly afraid of attachment. So as I tried to get closer to him he pulled away. He was always suspicious of me for what I couldn't fathom. But it was simply due to my attempts at connecting in a sincere emotional way. We are both guilty of emotional manipulation. We both thought the other one was maliciously not meeting our needs.

When I would finally turn to leave, he would turn back towards me. This last time, after absolutely countless break ups, I entered a crisis unit for depression and suicidal thinking/ attempts. He met me there. But the person that was left of me was emotionless. EMPTY and BLANK. It was weird and creepy. He was so nice and concerned for my well-being at that point. Showered me with compliments and gifts as never before. Actually apologetic for his behavior. I just had nothing left in me to trust he wouldn't leave me AGAIN empty, alone, and broken. So I became suspicious of his attempts at connecting emotionally with me. How could this time be different than before? He must be faking. He just feels sorry for me.

Who is the guilty party? Who is the leaver in the relationship? He was emotionally unavailable throughout the whole thing. As soon as I left emotionally he arrived.

I can picture both of us saying the lyrics, EXCEPT the part about looking in the eyes. I only can picture him looking in mine at the crisis unit and subconsciously knowing I checked out emotionally. I didn't even know it yet.

i think this song is about this one person thinking love is just a game and not believing in it at all and just ruining this relationship, yet they don't think they're doing anything wrong but really they're hurting the other person.

THis is one of my favorite songs on the album. Its about being in a relationship that ended very ugly. Trust was lost and now you're being killed with the hate you feel coming from the other person. You're so heart broken over this.

all these songs remind me of my relationship with my bestfriend. we used to have this thing for each other but not anymore. i told him that im falling for him again but he doesnt feel for me like that anymore. this song reminds me so much of how i feel for him. "I felt you cut free turning cold shoulders to me" rejection..."Don't worry about me the heart is supposed to bleed Purity is drained Help each other die I see it, I see it in your eyes Killing all that holds you" this reminds me of how im falling for him but he doesnt see me the same. killing all that holds you.... hes changing. hes making me miserable, and there cant possible be anyone who could cherish him like me.

A bunch of these songs seem to all be about a relationship. They need more themes in their songs

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
