At least to me this song is about someone who is taking a break from having a significant other in their life. It's like this person is mellow and wants to take more time for self-reflection. My interpretation of the last part of the song is that this person doesn't feel "dead" inside, but rather very alive. They just want to coast along and wait instead of actively seeking someone out. I've been listening to this song a lot lately because this how I have been feeling lately. Just like this song, it feels really good.
