"Limassol" as written by Paul Anthony Smith, Archis Tiku, Thomas Alexander English, Duncan Robert Lloyd and Lukas James Wooller....
Thinking clearly never came,
As easy as it did for you,
Driving this route out of town,
I wish you were still around,
And in the dead of night I always,
wondered whether you were true,
Someone better than myself,
An offer you just can't turn down,
A morning fight,
And a wasted night,
You crept back to your room

Run along back to your new man

Limassol, hold on I couldn't trap you,
We're gonna head for new horizons,

When its all good keep things close at hand

I could never bear to hear you,
Struggling against the tide,
Promises I couldn't keep,
I couldn't admit I was in too deep
Saw the lights on in your window,
Even though they'd said you'd gone,
The darker nights have come again,
Quicker than the year before
A morning fight,
A wasted night,
You slipped back to your room

You better run away back to your new man

Limassol, hold on I could never catch you,
We're gonna head for new horizons,

When its all good keep things close at hand,
When its all good you've gotta keep things close at hand

General CommentI love the geordie accent coming out on 'wondered' !

Anyway - I think this song is really good- the title caught my eye as it's a place in Cyprus, but I don't really know why they have chosen it specifically - maybe they've been there and fancy it as their 'new horizon' !

The song sort of seems like a holiday romance gone wrong - I see it as he goes on holiday with his partner, and then she cheats on him/or he finds out she's been cheating...but there's more too it than that.

General Commentoh this one is the best:
"When its all good keep things close at hand"
i mean it's so delicate of thim to think of how delicate de balance is, once you reach it, so to keep it you have to struggle. but once you struggle it's not good anymore, it's not natural. so i could just understand it's never good, except for certain short moments. you can't have happiness, you can't plan it, it can only happen, and when it does, you can just enjoy it, not thinking about how it's going to end.

General CommentI think it's a holiday fling gone awry, which is why they chose Limassol. Cyprus is famous for being a slightly cheasy holiday destination. Think package holiday. Great fun though...

    Ok, I'm digressing.

Is it just me that loves the intro???

Oh, and to quote thr user above......

General CommentThe song which has single-handedly improved Cyprus's tourist industry by 300%...LIMASSOL!!!

Class song, for some reason I love the buzzing intro, just a energetic quirky song to bop to...Geordie-land's churning 'em out at the moment, aren't they?

General Commentreally love this album, and this song, esp. lyrics "run along back to your new man" with that accent. this song reminds me of "The Riders" by Tim Winton where a guy is waiting for his wife to arrive, she never turns up but has been seen living at a holiday resort in Greece. Not quite the same here, this song is not as dark as the book
