"Monsoon" as written by Robert Peter Williams and Guy Antony Chambers....
I've sung some songs that were lame
I've slept with girls on the game
I've got my Catholic shame
Lord I'm in purgatory
Basically it's all come-on talk for me

I wasn't me when we met
You haven't lost my respect
I'm here to serve and protect
What shape of insanity
Keeps leading you back to me?

So put your hands across the water
Mushroom
Monsoon
Come soon

Don't want to piss on your parade
I'm here to make money and get laid
Yeah I'm a star but I'll fade
If you ain't sticking your knives in me
You will be eventually

To all you Sharons and Michelles
With all your tales to sell
Save your meat money well
I'm glad that spending a night with me
Guaranteed you celebrity.

And I can't talk in a crowd
When I'm alone I'm too loud
You're done, your daddy's proud
Thank you for keeping me company
You've all been so nice to me

So put your hands across the water
Mushroom
Monsoon
Come soon

Oh Lord
I feel
Nothing
I know much smarter men
Never got this far

I got too many regrets
I've smoked too many cigarettes
I've had more blondes than brunettes
I'm not expecting your sympathy
But it's all been too much for me

So put your hands across the water
Mushroom
Monsoon
Come soon

General CommentMost of it is about the pressures of fame and him sleeping with a lot of women. there's a few double entendres like 'its all come on top of me', and soe of it's very sarcastic, like 'you've done your daddies proud, thanks for keeping me company", that's my favourite line. Basically I think he feels like his life and his behaviour is abit out of control, "its all been too much for me".

My InterpretationImo he talks about his life after he was famous. He feels he is just having a good time and he wonders how comes he is liked so much. He understands that the fans also are having a good time along with him so he asks them to just have a good time (So put your hands across the water Oh mushroom) and explode (Monsoon Come soon).
So put your hands across the water
    Oh mushroom
    Monsoon
    Come soon!

General CommentI think that the chorus is about human welfare and working together, but in a sense about himself and people helping him. He also confesses his regrets. Good song. Catchy

General CommentI get the impression that he's looking back on his life with shame, confessing his wrong-doings and his attitudes towards his job/life. And he adds on a more personal note a salute to his fans:
"Thank you for keeping me company
You've all been so nice to me".

What's up with mushroom? Lost for rhyming words?

General CommentThis song is about his days back in Take That, lame songs, lotsa sex.
He wants to get rid of all that, the only way to wash that big black past is through a Monsoon.
The "Thank you for keeping me company, You've all been so nice to me" is obviously ironic.
"What ShaPe (with a P) of insanity, keeps leading u back 2 me" (thou shade would have worked out alright also).. here he's saying: look at me! I'm not this boy band plastic person really ("I wasn't me when we met" also applies)..
The rest is pretty much the same, or means sth like the "above said things" (?)

    Great song, btw...
