And the hostess has been waiting
Through some time and rearranging
To keep her mind on something
Besides the lack of people coming
You pull up in hesitation
Is this the right location?
You can hear some music playing
Your hand knocks in obligation
She opens the door
She's been waiting
And nobody's been coming
Seems like nobody's coming
But if you wouldn't mind staying
I'll fix you a drink if you need it
And it looks like you need it
The weather's hitting so hard I cant believe it
How'd you ever drive through it?
I don't know I kinda liked it
I don't know I wasn't thinking
Let's forget about the bullshit
Let's just concentrate on drinking

All night
All night
All night

All night
All night
All night
All night

General CommentThe hostess tries in vain to spark a conversation with the subject. Trying to initiate some small-talk, she talks about the weather, asking him about the driving conditions, (humourously?) observing that he looks like he could use a drink, however the subject remains distant and pensive; preoccupied by something. His despondance suggests that he didn't come to this party looking to socialize. Shrugging off the hostess' "bullshit", he seems focused on drinking, on an escape.

Song MeaningI heard it was about a real party that Paul and the band went to sometime in 2001 (at least around the time the band was formed). They were the only ones who showed up and just drank all night. Guess it just turn out to be some great lyrical inspiration for him.
