I've been twice on the highway
Back to Texas, with heaven behind me
And it's a shame on our anniversary
We've nothing left to celebrate

Darling, I can't replace you

I have to keep on moving
Or I get lost in all I'm losing
I stay, drifting through my head
With the static you left

Give me closure
It's all I want from you

closure - "a bringing to an end, a conclusion" i think this song is about getting over a love or relationship.. saying goodbye "i've been twice on the highway, back to texas with heaven behinde me" highway meaning leaving the love and heaven being 'the love/ the person' " i have to keep on moving or i get lost in all i'm losing" meaning the choice was made for a good reason, but he also regrets it in a way. "give me closure it's all i want from you" meaning give me the end... it's over kinda deal. anyways its a great song & an amzing band this is just what i get from the song.. what do others think?

Alright I think the meaning of this song is pretty clear. Look at the name of the song, Miss Louisiana. The band is from Texas. So, there was a girl in Louisiana (the "heaven" he refers to) and "twice on the highway" means he drove to see her on their anniversary and is on his way back. But things between them had been growing distant and their relationship is fading. He sees it ending, and knows it can't go back to what it was. "I have to keep on moving/Or I get lost in all I'm losing" makes perfect sense. If he doesn't keep moving he'll get super depressed. So now he just needs closure, a definitive end, so that he can move on. Just to paraphrase.

Sunglasses at Night
Corey Hart
In the 1980s, sunglasses were a common fashion for people who wanted to adopt a "tough guy" persona (note all the cop shows from that era -- Simon & Simon, Miami Vice, etc. -- where the lead characters wore shades). So I think this song is about a guy who wears shades as a way of hiding his insecurity after learning that his girlfriend is cheating on him. He's trying to pretend that he's a "tough guy" to hide the fact that his girlfriend's affair is disturbing him.

Shudder to Think
This song is timeless, and nearly 20 years after its creation, still possesses the mystique it did the first time i heard it ~1994. To me, at first blush, all those years ago, it had some kind of homo-erotic allure. The line "so that the others may do" tells of something which must be done for others to follow suit. It felt like like some kind of roxy-glam-pop invitation to sexual liberation. Upon further introspection I think the song may not have an intrinsic meaning, but simply represents a sort of "holding open the door" for people who otherwise might be affronted by this song/band's unusual style. I know, as a sort of armchair rock-historian, that there have been few bands so daring and so true to the sound that wanted to emerge from within, whether the creator wanted it or not. This band handled it with elegance and grace seldom, if ever, seen.
