"Center of the Universe" as written by Roy S. Khantatat and Thomas Youngblood....
Move slowly
Beyond the colors of my eyes
Move slowly
Into the corners of my mind
Rising like the Pegasus
Each and every one of us
Released
Islands in the sea of dreams
Always searching harmony
And peace

All we find
Reject our mind
Don't you wonder why

If the war by heavens gate released desire
In the line of fire someone must have known
That a human heart demands to be admired
Cause in the Center of the Universe
We are all alone

Show me sign of paradise
A place we all would like to go to
Tell me what to sacrifice
So there's a chance for me to want you

All I find
Reject my mind
And I wonder why

If the war by heavens gate released desire
In the line of fire someone must have known
That a human heart demands to be admired
'Cause in the Center of the Universe
We are all alone

I have a tale to be told won't you listen tonight
Follow me into the core of the fountain of light
Try to imagine that hope is our ship for the soul
(Over the ocean the quest of your life lies ahead)
Maybe together we'll find there's a place for us all
(Follow the star in your mind, sail along sail along)

General CommentHmm.. Not much to say about the meaning of this song..
It's basically the intro to the Epica story line.. Ariel who explains to us his reasons to set out on a quest for life.

He feels an agony by not knowning what his reason for living is. He assumes someone must have known, at least once.. And he suspects the find the answer in Epica, the mythical centre of the universe.. where we could find the answers to all the questions.

The funniest thing is that the chorus already gives away some of the things that will happen. He assumes someone must have known when they faced death - something he will do as well in the end - not his own death, but the death of his love.
And he says that in Epica everyone is alone and that also happens in the end.. He knows the answer by then, but he sacrificed his love for it.

The bridge of the song is an invetation to come, sit and listen to Ariel's storyn and maybe we'll find our meaning..

Well, not much of message in this song :P But I DO love this song ^^ Nice up tempo song, and especially the female backing vocals in the bridge were an awesome touch :P

My InterpretationI'm not wholly sure, but it seems to be about how self centered humanity is.
