Baby
Ooh baby
Baby, baby
Ooh, um baby
Oh, baby

We need to, umm (baby)
Talk about where we're taking this thing
How far we're gonna let this go
We've been here before
It's getting late

It's getting late
Why you gotta be here?
Beside me
Watching, needing, wanting me
I'm afraid (don't be)
I'm afraid (don't be)
I'm so scared that you'll hurt me, twice
Baby

Listen (oh, baby)
I've already been thinking about you, on my mind (ooh, baby)
Far too often for you to be here at this time
See, one hands on nine and the other's on my thigh (ooh, baby, ooh, baby)
Look, I already played with the idea of you
Being here in the morning
The position for the crack of dawn
And the conversations before the yawning
But uh, it's getting late, it's getting late

It's getting late
Why you gotta be here?
Beside me
Watching, needing, wanting me
But I'm afraid, (you say) don't be
But I'm afraid, (you say) don't be (don't be)
I'm so scared that you'll hurt me twice
Oh baby

How's about I let you touch the space
That you left behind
The day that you stop smiling
The day that the tears started falling
But now were talking, touching (mm, babe)
Almost making sensual again
You can taste the familiar
'Cause, the family are supportive
Of this moment, but was led by the movements 'cause ah
It's getting late (baby)

It's getting late
Why you gotta be here?
Beside me
Watching, needing, wanting me
But I'm afraid (you say) don't be
But I'm afraid (you say) don't be
I'm so scared that you'll hurt me twice
Oh baby, baby, baby
Oh baby, twice, baby baby

Ooh, baby, baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby, baby
Baby, baby, baby
Ooh baby, baby, baby, baby
Ooh

I see the memories we replayed
Same space, face, bodies
I know there's a method to your manliness
But ah, I'm afraid

It's getting late
Why you gotta be here, ooh?
Beside me
Watching, needing, wanting me
But I'm afraid, you say don't be
But I'm afraid, and you say don't be
I'm afraid that you're gonna hurt me baby, baby twice baby
Ooh, baby baby baby, twice, baby
Oh baby, baby

I see the memories replayed, same space, same face
Same bodies, baby, I know there's a method to your manliness
But I'm afraid, babe (I'm afraid)
I see the memories replayed (I see, yeah), same space, same face (same faces)
Same bodies, baby, I know there's a method to your manliness
(I'm afraid) but I'm afraid, baby

Yeah, yeah
I'm afraid, baby don't hurt me
I'm about to cry
I'm about to, all mine, babe
Please don't hurt me, baby
I'm afraid, baby
Please don't hurt me, baby
I'm afraid, babe
Don't hurt me, baby
Please don't hurt me
I'm afraid babe
Please don't hurt me babe
I'm afraid, now
afraid, afraid, afraid, I'm afraid

General CommentIt's about various situations where things are getting hotter than they should be either cuz a) ure "just friends" and tryin to keep it there or b) u can't move into somethin cuz ure afraid of being burned again... it's getting late could mean a friend needs to go cuz its like 11pm and the question lingers "should i stay or should i go." Or it can mean, the relationship/friendship is getting deep and u need to figure out...what ground ure trespassin on here. that's my take. i love them. i wish songmeanings would put on "Now You're Gone" my absolute FAVORITE Floetry song

My Interpretationi think its about people who have had something before ' we taste the familiar" and it ended but really didn't end and now it seems what they have is undefined so as satedm00n said ..u are not sure what ground your are trespassing on.

General CommentThis song is about rekindling an old flame with someone that once hurt you. The singer is hesitant about going down the same road with this individual, especial in the physical aspect. The song really captures the debate and concern that comes with giving someone another chance...I love it!
