Virginia Moon Lyrics
This is one of the most amazing Foo songs I have ever heard. I think this song proved once and for all that there is no boundary on what the Foos can do.
believe me, it's a song both you AND your parents will love. oddly enough, that's not a bad thing.
Amazing amazing song. I love it. favorite on the acoustic disc.
rock on dave n' norah duet action!
I love this song! Every time I hear it I keep saying, "Who knew that Dave Grohl had such a sweeeeet, smooth voice?" I mean, is this the same guy who sang For Your Honor and Best of You?
Childe is right, there is no boundary on what the Foos can do musically.
i have no fuckin clue what this song is about.
dave is from and lives in Virginia( my home state!) so i guess this song is about home.
I hate to say it but I think this means exactly how is sounds. I think it's about the beauty of the moon and the romanticism that beauty brings with nightfall.
Dearest constellation, heaven surrounding you Stay there, soft and blue Virginia Moon, I'll wait for you tonight
[The night is beautiful and they await the moon]
Sweetest invitation, breaking the day in two Feeling like I do Virginia Moon, I'll wait for you tonight
[When nightfall comes, the day takes a different turn and along with that turn comes a different feeling. In other words..."the night is young."
And now our shapes become shadows in your light In the morning when we're through And tomorrow rescues you I will say goodnight
[They use the light and illumination of the moon as much as they can until the morning comes and takes away the romanticism. Until the next moon, they have bid it adeu.]
Secret fascination, whisper a quiet tune Hear me calling you Virginia Moon, I'll wait for you tonight
[Their love of the moon is not discussed yet they call to it quietly in song]
ooooooh how sweet is this song... my mum likes it too!
I soon as i heard it i knew it was the norah jones track. sounds like a light jazz cool track, something norah jones would record. takes a few times to into.
Jobimfan is right. Dave has such an awesome musical range, he can (in his words) "scream his balls off" but also he can sing songs like this so well! Definitely one of my favourites on the CD
but its incredible.
The song is so low key, it's just amazing, it will put you to sleep in a completely non boring way.... in a soothing kind of way, like getting a soft massage...
In all honesty, I liked the acoustic side more than the rock side, the whole thing is flawless... i mean don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like the rock side, I was just so much more blown away by the otherside...
God Damn the Foos are spectacular..
