In Your Honor Lyrics

Can you hear me
Hear me screamin'
Breaking in the muted skies
This thunder heart
Like bombs beating
Echoing a thousand miles

Mine is yours and yours is mine
There is no divide
In your honor
I would die tonight

Mine is yours and yours is mine
I will sacrifice
In your honor
I would die tonight
For you to feel alive

Can you feel me
Feel me breathing
One last breathe before I close my eyes
This suffering
For receiving
Deliver me into the other side

For you to feel alive
For you to feel alive
For you to feel alive

I also thought this was about Kurt.... Your right, alot of us newer FF fans do assume everything is about Kurt.

Well you thought right, it was written back when Dave was on tour with Nirvana and is dedicated to both Kurt and Krist. :P

Yeah the meaning seems to be about someone who feels like they would do anything just to make another feel happier, or "feel alive".

But you could also look at it as a roman gladiator about to enter the arena. Although i think that would fit, I doubt that's what it was written about.

Here's what Dave said about this song in an interview...

"It's meant to represent that feeling of love or devotion, that you're so devoted to something that you'd give anything for it, or to it."

Yeah i agree with the above. This song is amazing.

There was an interview with Taylor and he said that this song was written for all of their fans

When i first saw the lyrics of this song i presumed it was dedicated to Kurt Cobain (although i hate it when people assume every ff song is dedicated to Kurt) But the idea of it being dediacted to their fans is groovy.

IMO, this song is what 'All My Life' was for the Blackbox tour. The endless pusling intro, it's the sort of intro to keep the crowd baying for more. As the Kurt Cobain tribute goes, listen to Resolve on CD1 of In Your Honour. Both equally excellent songs. The new album is well worth the wait!

****READ*** One of best of the heavys, way up there with the likes of 'Monkey Wrench' and 'Breakout'. Just only would they do an album like this song, very heavy, machine gun drums, guitar solos and screaming.
