Darling, what'cha gonna do now?
Now that you noticed it all went wrong
I've been, I've been thinking
That you don't know me any more

Don't let the sun be the one to change you baby
I want to learn how to love, if I'm to know
Cause I want to go where the people go
Cause I'm forever lost

Darling, what'cha gonna say now?
Now that you noticed it all went wrong
Looks like I'm driving, my friends are all crazy
Oh they suddenly don't know me anymore

Don't let the sun be the one to change you baby
I want to learn how to love, if I'm to know
Cause I want to go where the people go
Cause I'm forever lost
Oh yeah, I'm forever lost

Looks like it all went wrong
What am I to do? What am I to do?
Looks like it all went wrong
What am I to do? What am I to do?
Looks like it all went wrong
What am I to do? What am I to do?
Looks like it all went wrong

Don't let the sun be the one to change you baby
I want to learn how to love, if I'm to know
Cause I want to go where the people go
Cause I'm forever lost
Oh yeah, I'm forever lost

Darling, what'cha gonna do now?
Now that you've noticed
Now that you've noticed
Now that you've noticed
Now that you know

Listen to the lyrics - to be going through a breakup maybe makes it easier to see. But to me this whole album is clearly more sad than happy, This song especially brings it out - it's a lot about a breakup.

They have a beach boys style harmony to them, they sound fresh out of the 60's "dont let the sun be the one, to change you baby.". Thats no bad thing they're great. I'm not totally sure what they mean by forever lost, maybe it's just them saying that they feel really detached or that they are lost in a relationship.

I don’t know how I feel about this band at the moment, i agree the sound is pure happy and beautiful but the lyrics are all sad. I think if I wasn't going through a break up at the moment this would take on a whole different meaning! To me the whole album is the story of a couple who clearly love each other very much, but are going through a break-up for the good of themselves. All song lyrics are of course open to interpretation, (and that why I love music so much) but for me this is a break up album through and through. Saying that, if I’m in a good mood, its so easy to tune out of the lyrics and just listen to the melody and harmonies, then it turns into beautifully musical music!

    I love this tune.

It's bitter-sweet lyrics tell a fairly obvious tale [to me at least] of two people breaking up and going their separate ways - I get the impression that one or both of them realised they don't know themselves/each other.

Despite that the tone of the music is hopeful, almost as if it's a much needed fresh start. Gives me the shivers when it reaches the crescendo.

there's something REALLY wrong in their music. i see the colors and the happy faces and all, but their music just doesn't make me feel happy. it actually feels like a lot of sadness and repressed anger.

i guess i'm afraid of these guys...

I agree with the last comments, to me this song is not happy at all...but it's about changing and growing apart. About that moment when you realize about it and being caught in your own confusion...to dwell on it...to be "Forever lost".

So sad, just like I'm feeling lately...

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.
