Was I wrong about the world
It's a beautiful new place
Where else could a creep like me
Meet such a pretty face

Meeting every day with the rising sun
Looking up it's looking like
My losing streak is done

Used to always feel like
Wished that I was dressed better
Never had a lot of luck
Until I finally met her

Feeling like the weight that weighed a ton
Lifted off my shoulders now
My losing streak is done

Always felt like giving in
To the feeling I can't win
But I took it on the chin
Now I'm finally cashing in

Meeting every day with the rising sun
Looking up it's looking like
My losing streak is done

My losing streak is done
I said my losing streak is don
Did you hear me
I said my losing streak is done

General Commentwhy no comments? this one is a nice optimistic track, rare thing to have eels sing in a happy mood about happy things :)
about a meaning, I think it's pretty simple. after all those losses, E finally feels that the series of bad events is over and a new stage of life is about to begin.

General CommentAnd one year later.... :)

It IS an optimistic track. Maybe no comments because the meaning lies right on the surface.

A great song about unabated hope and happiness.

General CommentMore than two years on:

This is probably my favorite track from Blinking Lights. Among the most optimistic works E has ever written. It really fits, the album is all about really living.
A shame that the incredible difficulty in getting the album published sent him into deep depression again...
