Lonely in your wardrobe, hanging there since '99
You've probably forgotten me and how you taught me your words so fine

Home sweet home was on your lap, something you wouldn't understand
The shows we did near or for - we drove the globe in your red car

It's needless to say I'm on my own
Since you've got nothing for me to say
I was your best friend in the 90'ies
But still not thrown away

The times of fame and fortune all have passed or at least I wish
Setting your friend aside while I sek aside your teddybear

It's needless to say I'm on my own
Since you've got nothing for me to say
I was your best friend in the 90'ies
But still not thrown away

But I'm brobably your favorite so I'll keep smiling
For all I can do is put on a happy face

It's needless to say I'm on my own
Since you've got nothing for me to say
I was your best friend in the 90'ies
But still not thrown away

i think this song is about the singer feeling like a doll or teddybear of sorts. between a few dolls, the singer won the title for being the favorite, but after the 90'ies passed, he became a forgotten doll, or lost his status, lonely in the wardrobe. the doll's owner grew up, but he couldn't throw the doll away.

awesome lines: "home sweet home was on your lap" "but i'm probably your favorite" "for all i can do is put on a happy face" "i was your best friend... but still not thrown away"

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.
